"It's not supposed to end this way! I was so close!"
"Dude, just restart the game."
"Good thinking, Mik." Corbyn restarted the game and sat back down on the bed.
"Okay Bean, actually try to help me and you might not die this time."
"What does me protecting you have to do with me winning?"
"I could have just saved your butt if you didn't leave me behind as zombie bait earlier."
"Good point."
"Did Corbyn lose again?" Daniel asked, walking into the room. He shut the door and sat down on the bed, watching us play.
"Yep, he did."
"Nice. Who killed him?"
"A zombie," Corbyn answered.
"Wow, I would have thought Mikayla did because you made her mad."
"Damn Daniel, why did you have to spoil my plan?"
"What?" Corbyn asked, looking over at me.
"Nothing?"
"Despicable."
I laughed and we continued the game.
"Pizza's here!" Zach yelled from down stairs.
Daniel picked me up and ran down the stairs.
"What was that for? I can walk down stairs."
"Yes, but I thought you might want some pizza before it was all gone."
"Well, thank you kind sir."
I sat down on a stool and took two pieces of pizza out of the box and set them on a plate. All of the boys got pizza then went back to whatever they were doing before.
Jonah sat down in front of me. "Are you a camera? Because every time I look at you I smile."
I let out a huff. "Are we doing pickup lines now?"
"Yes, yes we are."
"I'm not a photographer, but I can picture you and I together."
"If you were a fruit, you'd be a fine-apple," he said as he smirked.
"Are you coffee? Because I love you a latte."
We continued doing this as we ate our pizza.
"Are you a Disney princess? Cause your ci-"
"Mikayla! Zach won't give me my phone," Alyssa yelled.
"I'm sorry, here!" Zach yelled back. "Mikayla will kick my ass."
"Zachary Dean Herron watch your language!" I yelled towards the living room.
"Shit." The sound of footsteps running up the stairs was followed by a door being shut and locked.
Alyssa came into the kitchen, laughing. "You should have seen his face. That was priceless." She looked over and saw Jonah. "Am I interrupting something?"
"No," I answered. "We were just saying cheesy pickup lines."
"Did you fart? Because you blew me away." She winked then grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge.
"Hey Lyssa, have you talked to Jake at all?"
"No, why?"
"He's still ignoring me. He hasn't called, or texted. Everyone else that lives there says he's totally different off camera."
"I don't know. I can do some snooping though."
"Thanks Lyssa."
She smiled before walking out and up the stairs.
"What's up with Jake?" Jonah asked. "Isn't he Logan's brother?"
"Yeah. Something happened with his ex-girlfriend at Logan's party and he chooses to believe I set the whole thing up."
"You didn't," he said, almost too quickly. "I mean, I don't know about any of that stuff, but I know you enough to know that you wouldn't set something like that up."
"Thanks J."
"Hey guys, we're going to go swim. Do you guys want to come too?" Jack asked, running down the stairs.
"I don't have a swimsuit."
"You really need to start bringing one over, Mik," Jonah added.
"I know. But I can't swim anyways. I mean..." I held my leg with the cast up.
"Right. Sorry Mik, I forgot."
"It's fine. I'll stay in here and watch a movie or something."
"I'll stay with her," Jonah offered.
"Alright." Jack ran out the back door to meet up with the others. I went over to the couch and sat down, propping my leg up on one of the foot stool things.
Jonah took a movie out of a case and put it in the DVD player. He grabbed a blanket off the couch and tossed it to me.
"Thanks."
"No biggie." He sat down next to me and put his arm on the back of the couch as the movie started.
