She's in the tank
Bubbles floating above her head
The blue in her eyes reflected around her
She can finally breathe when she's there
Through no fault of hers, however
She is drowning
She swims away from daddy issues
She swims away from troubles with friends
She uses swimming as a coping mechanism
Yet she is drowning
The only time she can breathe clearly
Think clearly
See clearly
Is when she's in the deep blue
Swimming away from her troubles
The water flying fast around her
The current racing against her
Her conditioned hair softer than silk
And her legs moving gracefully
She swims
To get
Away
