Viola

It was easy to find Jenna. We knew exactly where she'd be. When we found the Eiffel Tower, my heart started pounding with excitement and anxiety at the thought of seeing Riley again. It had been so long, it felt like forever since I'd set my eyes on my mate. I knew she had to be with Jenna, I just knew it. There would be nobody else in this whole world that Riley would go to with the Darkness.

Keeping my blood hidden from the Vampires proved to be a challenge, especially when I had a wound that hadn't healed yet. We moved through the streets of Paris in a quiet and discreet fashion, attempting to stay hidden in the crowds as best as we could. Thalia had performed a disguising spell to keep my blood hidden, but it was starting to take its toll on her.

A memory abruptly came to me when I saw Thalia leaning over herself, gasping for air, after using so much magic. When a Witch or Wizard exerts oneself beyond their comprehension, they die. That's why it was so dangerous for her to exert herself like this and I already knew this was going to be tough if we ran into trouble.

Adelene was only one Vampire and I was only one human. Without Thalia, we were kind of helpless.

I didn't really know how to use my magic either. I knew it was there, I felt it, but I just couldn't figure out how to use it. I was scared to try.

But the time has come. And as we approached the Eiffel Tower, tired, beaten, sweaty, and nervous, all I could think of was Riley. I promised I would bring her back home, and bring her back home I would.

So with that in mind, I walked up the steps, toward the top of the Eiffel Tower, with Adelene behind me and Thalia on our tail.

As we approached, Adelene suddenly stiffened and smelled the air.

"What is it?" I asked her, nervously.

"Dogs," she says, face twisted in anger. "It seems Riley has been using them as servants. They will obey the Darkness, no matter who has it."

Oh, great. The wolves were here too. I inhaled deeply and grasped the railing. "C'mon, we've got to keep going. We're almost there." I squeezed the handle of the Shield on my arm and continued upwards.

When we finally arrived at the top of the Eiffel Tower, we saw the mess of Jenna's place. Just like it was before, when we left here the first time.

In front of the Drifting Mirror, I saw Jenna. She was busy fixing her hair, and then she saw us in the reflection. She groans and turns around, brush in her hand. "You again?"

"Where is she?" I demanded right away. I didn't care what Jenna had to say, unless it was about Riley.

She rolls her eyes, and cocks her hip into her hand. "I'm assuming you mean your girlfriend?"

"Yes, her."

"Jesus, she's not here."

"You're lying."

"Am I, though?"

"Yes!"

"Hmm, interesting."

"Where is she?!"

"Don't know."

I was getting frustrated and I felt Thalia's hand on my arm, as she stepped beside me. She looked across the place at Jenna. The two Witch's had a stare down and Jenna smirks, and laughs.

"Well, well, Thalia Link, is that you?" Jenna cackles.

She narrows her eyes at Jenna, while she laughed. "You've been reincarnated, I see."
