The moment the door fell down to the ground, I grabbed Olivia and fell back into the closet, closing the door behind us, and we ducked down, peering in through the cracks at the Bittens flooding into the room. They sniffed the air, and growled, grabbing the mattresses and throwing them across the room, and then moving to the chair in the corner and throwing it against the wall until it fell into pieces.

One of the Bittens, a female, turns and snarls at her friends, "Search the whole damn hotel! Tip the whole goddamn place upside down until you find them."

More Bittens were in the halls and we could hear them snarling and marching up and down the halls, in search of the fugitives. It seems Snow sent them right back again when they showed up empty handed.

Olivia's breathing heavily in my ear, and her hands are shaking. I knew if they found us and captured us, they'd probably kill me and force Olivia to drink human blood, until she lost her humanity and just became another pawn to Snow.

"We can't stay here, Jazz," Olivia whispers to me.

"I know," I whisper back. I'm just waiting for the right moment to make a break for it. The idea is to lead them away from the hotel, and to make them think Viola is still here in this world.

When every Bitten has their back turned, moving into the bathroom, and flipping over more furtniture, and even checking outside the window, I stand up, grabbing Olivia's hand and kicking down the door.

The sound makes every Bitten turn our way, and that's when we make a break for it, sprinting into the hallway and heading for the stairs.

We freeze when we see the large group of white headed Bittens crowding the stairwell. Olivia curses as I look around the place for a new escape.

My eyes settle on the elevator and we both make a run for it. The Bittens in front and behind us are all running at us at equal speeds and we both dive for it, stumbling and falling to the ground with how fast we were moving.

We look back, watching the elevator closing slowly as the snarling Vampires reached their hands out to stop the closing doors.

A pale white hand intercepts the door closing and I immediately stand, grabbing hold of the hand and twisting, causing the young teen to cry out in pain and withdrawl his hand. The doors shut with a soft click and the snarls and growls are cut off, leaving only our heavy breathing in the silence.

"When the doors open, you need to run as fast as you can," I say to Olivia as she picks herself up off the ground. "Don't look back, just run."

Olivia nods her head and our legs tense up as we ride out the elevator and then hear the "ding" as the doors slid open. As soon as we were able to, we sprinted out of the elevator and looked back and forth down the halls. As soon as I heard the snarling from the stairwell, we took off.

To be honest, I couldn't remember where the exit was, or even if we were on the right floor. But as we came down the hall and saw through the window that we were still a bit too high, we made a break for the stairs on the end of the hall and were running down them so fast.

"Oh, jeez, oh jeez," I huffed into the air as we heard the snarling and growling at the top of the stairs descend down with us.

When we came to the bottom of the steps, I saw the Bittens at the exit, and the entrance, and a few more at the front desk, holding an unconscious human, blood smearing their mouths. As soon as we came to the floor, their red eyes flashed and they all looked at us.

The Bittens on the stairs were in sight now and I grabbed Olivia's hand and turned down the only hall that wasn't invaded with blood thirsty Bittens. I saw the window at the end of the hall and knew it'd be a drop, but we had no choice.
