CHAPTER FIVE - The Fence
Nadine
The baby in the crib, tears falling from her light blue eyes. A woman comes in screaming. She stands directly in front of the crib and shoots herself.

I woke up, screaming. Fleur leant over me.
"Nadine, it's okay. We're fine. We're locked in here, and the boys are next door." She said calmly.
My body was shaking like mad and was also covered in sweat. There was a pounding pain in my head.
"What's wrong, Nadine?" Fleur asked.
I shook my head. "Nothing, just a silly dream."
I sat up, putting my hand where my head hurt. A lump had formed, but luckily I had a lot of hair to cover it.
"What happened to my head."
Fleur grimaced. "Well, firstly, you whacked your head inside the van at a sharp corner and you were unconscious. The men brought us into this building and they tried to wake you up because they want to take us to someone, but I'm not sure who, and one of them decided it would be a good idea to whack you around the head with his gun."
"Ow." I said. "Good job I was unconscious then. That would've hurt."
"Well, technically speaking, you wouldn't have been hit in the head if you weren't unconscious..." Fleur started.
"Yeah, whatever." I said, sitting up. "How long have I been out for?"
Fleur looked at her watch. "Eleven minutes past twelve. You have been out for five hours."
I climbed onto the bed. I must have fallen out during my dream. I thought of the baby that I was dreaming about. It was strange how the baby had the same bright, light blue eyes as mine.
Before I could think anymore, it all went dark.
Austin
I was woken by a scream.
"Brian, wake up!" I said as I shook him.
Brian groaned, then started flapping his hands around for his glasses. I found them on the floor and passed them to him and he put them on.
"What's going on?" He groaned.
"I heard a scream from next door where the girls are..." I said worriedly.
I instantly thought of Nadine. Was she okay? Was she hurt? I started to feel sick.
"They'll be fine. We will be able to see them tomorrow."Brian said. "Go back to sleep." He added.
I lay back and began to think of Nadine and I when we were younger. Nadine and I had first met in year one, she'd joined halfway through the year. She had sauntered into the room wearing a matching denim jacket and skirt and white boots, clutching onto a rag doll. Since that moment I had tried everything to get her to notice me, but wasn't until she had lost her rag doll and I had found it for her that we became firm friends. It was hard to believe that we had been friends for so long. But we weren't friends anymore, we were a couple and I needed to protect her...

Hit men came into the room.
"Come on boys, the boss wants to see you." One of them snapped.
Brian and I sat up and got to our feet. The guards grabbed our wrists and dragged us out of the box room out into the hallway.
I watched as four more men entered another room to retrieve Nadine and Fleur. I was too busy paying attention to them, that I wasn't ready for when the hit men pushed me into another room.
