Chapter Seven - Darkness

CHAPTER SEVEN - Darkness

Nadine

We ran down the corridor and ducked when the occasional fireball was shot at us.

"I am going to lead the twins to the top of the building." I told Austin, Brian and Fleur who were running alongside me.

"I'm not leaving you!" Austin said.

"Your three can take down Brianne and Justin. That will be trickier. I'll be fine by myself." I reassured him.

Austin shook his head. "If anything happens to you I will never forgive myself."

"I'll be fine. I always am." I brushed my lips against his.

I turned away and sat on the steps. Austin looked at me for a long time, then grabbing Fleur and Brian, zoomed off.

Austin

Fireballs were being thrown in every direction. We were outside on the field.

"Fleur, take my hand!" Brian said, holding it out.

Fleur grabbed it and a flow of energy surrounded them both. The force field protected them.

I began to run but tripped over something that couldn't be seen. Brianne.

I landed with a snap of my leg. "Aw, poor baby can't run." She teased.

Justin stepped forward, aimed and fired.

Brian

No time to waste, I let go of Fleur and ran in between Justin and Austin. I deflected the fireball with my hands, force field protecting me. They brushed past Justin and singed his arm. It must have hurt him but he didn't make a sound.

He fired again but I missed this time and it hit Austin. He screamed.

"NO!" Fleur ran over to Austin but Brianne tripped her and Fleur hurtled to the floor.

She rolled over and sat up but Brianne dived on top of her and pinned her to the ground. Brianne pulled her gun up to Fleur's throat.

"FLEUR!" I screamed. My force field slipped away, and Justin, who was watching my every move, shot when he saw the energy barrier slip away. Before I could think, I felt a searing pain in my leg.

Fleur

"Justin!" Yelled Brianne. "You get those two, and I'll take Fleur down!"

Justin nodded and knelt down next to Brian. I couldn't see what he was doing after that because Brianne slapped my face towards hers. She was heavy on top of me.

"You." She said. "You got away last time, and managed to steal the blimmin' Ferrari. I've learnt my lesson. You're not getting away again."

I spat at her. "Yes I will. Just you wait." I punched her.

She glared and whacked me around the head with her gun. She laughed when I yelled.

"Did that hurt? Would you like me to do it again?" Brianne said.

She hit me in the neck, harder this time but I kept my mouth shut. Brianne then clasped her hands around my throat. "I'LL KILL YOU!" She screamed. Her hands were covered in the blood that was gushing out of my neck. My vision started to blur.

No, no, no, you can do it! I thought to myself. You can beat her! Don't give up!

I grabbed the gun from the floor and pressed it into her chest. I pushed, trying to heave her off me. Brianne snatched the gun off me, letting go of my throat. I gasped for air. Then she sat up and aimed her gun. She then fired, and I heard a yell of pain in the distance. Brianne grinned.
