The boys crowded around the entrance of the maze while Mary watched from a distance as Minho got Ben from the pit. Ben kept crying 'please' as they passed her. Mary looked down to avoid herself from running to release Ben. Thomas joined Chuck not far away from her and watched in shock.
Minho walked through the crowd of boys as Ben fought against the restraints.
"Listen to me! Just please, listen to me. Please Minho, Alby." Ben said through his teeth as they got to the middle of the semi circle. Minho threw him onto the ground and grabbed his knife. As he cut the wire on Bens wrist Ben fell forward but caught himself before falling on his face. minho grabbed the bag of useless supplies and walked in front of Ben. "Minho, please. Minho please no." He begged as Minho threw the bag into the maze. Rumbling was heard followed by wind. Mary walked over to the edge as Minho stood back. She looked on with sad eyes and shivered slightly as Ben looked at her. "Poles!!" Alby called causing Ben to turn back to the keepers. They dropped there poles and aimed them at Ben. Ben got up and looked in fear. "Move in!" Alby called and they started moving. "No no no, please no, please." Ben begged trying to fight the poles. The boys kept pushing him in and Thomas looked at them in shock. Ben was soon between the moving walls and knew he had to move in or be crushed. He went into the maze. "Nooo!!!!" he shouted looking at Mary just before the maze shut fully.
Everyone looked down once the doors slammed shut. Alby looked around at each of us and stopped at Mary who looked heartbroken. Thomas looked at him still in shock. "He belongs to the maze now." Alby said placing a hand on Marys shoulder. Then he left soon followed slowly by everyone. Thomas looked at them before looking behind to see Mary looking at the now closed walls with tears in her eyes.
Later on Minho, Gally, Newt and Mary were at the wall. It was dark and the boys held a flame torch while Mary slowly chiseled Bens name off the wall. Once done she blinked as a tear fell and Minho sighed before pulled her into a hug.
"Why's Mary in bits?" Thomas asked Chuck while watching them at the wall from their hammocks. "Her and Ben were close. She may not of talked much but he was the one she mostly went to for help. He was the most protective of us all." Chuck said. They watched as Minho pulled Mary into a hug as she shaked while crying. "Do you think he'll make it?" Thomas asked watching Mary walk with Minho to her hut. "Who Ben? No one survives a night in the maze. We just gotta let him go." Chuck said before turning to sleep leaving Thomas watching the wall.
