chapter 34

Tom POV

As we got to the hospital I jumped out before the driver stopped. Mum, dad and Paddy were just heading in so I ran to them. Harrison and the twins came up soon after and we headed to reception.

"Family of Casey Holland." Dad stated.
"Second floor go down the hall turn to the second left and 3rd door to the right." She said not looking up.
"Thanks."

We rushed to the elevator and Paddy pressed the button. As soon as the doors opened we seen the cast making their way down the hall. We speed towards them causing them to look up.

"How is she?" I asked.
"The usual." They replied.
"Where is she?"
"FOllow us." Thomas smiled and walked off.
They made their way to a door before stopping and looking at us.
"She is connected to a lot of wires, just so you know." Kaya stated causing us to nod.

Once they opened the door my mouth dropped. Dylan sat beside my baby sister, holding her hand, while she slept in silence. The only noise in the room was the sound of the monitors beeping. I went and sat on the bed while everyone got a seat around the room. SHortly afterwards a doctor came in.

"Family of Casey Holland?" The doctor asked as he turned to the group.
"That's us." Dad said as he and mom stood up.
"Are you her parents" The doctor asked.
"Yes."
"Please step into my office, I will need to talk to you privately. Without the others please."
I  was about to protest when dad shook his head.

I sighed but nodded. We watched them leave into the doctors office before turning and watching Casey while she slept.

Nikki POV:

Dominic and I followed the doctor into his office. He sat down behind his desk before motioning for us to sit down. Once we sat he looked at us with a straight face.

"Now, you do realize that Katie was hit by a car and that the results can sometimes be severe."
We nodded.
"Well, I regret to inform you that Casey has a punctured lung that has been temporarily repaired. By temporarily I mean that we will have to repair it correctly once she's awake. She also had internal bleeding in the stomach but we managed to stop it. From what I can see if she stays like this and only improves she will wake up but we do have to consider that little chance that she might not."
I grabbed Dominics hand.
"What does this mean?" I asked.
"It means that you have a long road ahead of you. We can not be sure when she will wake up. But you must know that you will have to decide who will call it if it should come to that even though it is unlikely.."
"If it should come to that? Your talking as if my daughter won't make it." Dominic called standing up.
"We can not be sure, you have to understand that it is up to her to wake up, we can't make her. But her heart is still beating." The doctor explained.
"Thank you." I smiled softly, not knowing what else to say.

We walked out of his office. The boys were sitting in the room with a bored look on their faces. They sat up when they seen us coming out of the office. We smiled at them and they looked back at Casey.

"She will wake up but there is a small chance she won't." I explained.
"But the chance she will wake up is higher, right?"
"Yeah." Dominic nodded and they all nodded.
"Great." Sam smiled before they all looked at their sister.
