Your chest is pained as you desperately run. You don't know where you're going, you just need to get away. You rapidly search the ground, making sure not to trip on any roots or branches. That would mean the end for you.

You were under attack by Grimm. Having no training in combat, you had to rely on your wits to save you. The outskirts of the commercial district couldn't be too far away, as it felt like you had been running for hours.

Your friends, Ruby and Yang, were studying at Beacon, and you missed them. Unable to keep up the emotional mask, you had shed a few tears, when death came knocking at your door. Being a writer, you lived in an isolated cabin in the woods with the hope of peace and quiet, but you had neither at the moment, and there was no one for miles. Despite the dangers, there was something about the lifestyle that drew you to it, almost as an escape, though you weren't sure from what. It was as if there was something haunting you but no matter how hard you tried you couldn't quite remember...

You snuck a glance behind you. Right, it might be a good start to escape the Grimm before worrying about anything else. The Grimm were gaining, or so it seemed to your distraught mind, their beady red eyes focused on you, bloodthirsty.

And then there was darkness and a thud. Dizzy, you stood up, not knowing how you had fallen. An eerie screech snapped you back to reality, in time to feel the stinging pain as a set of claws scratched your chest. Backing up, you felt a cliff face behind you. Desperately, you grabbed a tree branch and attempted to fight them off.

"I'm not scared of you," you calmly said, looking the Grimm right in the eyes. Truthfully, you were very scared, and it sensed it, but you weren't going to go down without a fight. Something about holding a weapon, even though it was a rather untraditional one (not to mention flimsy and almost completely ineffective) calmed you down. You took a deep breath, feeling a sense of some control over the situation. What an odd way to feel as you were about to die.

Something swept your legs out from under you. You screamed as you hit the ground, knowing this was the end. No. This couldn't be it. You wouldn't let it end like this. But as you struggled to stand back up your legs gave out from under you. A flash of light, and you could just make out the figure of a man, falling into place between you and death, before everything went black...
