Panting, you fought to keep walking. Qrow's weight was really starting to wear you down. You took a deep breath. You can do this [Y/N]. Just a little bit farther to go.
You heard a growl from behind you.
No, please, not now.
Slowly turning around, you found yourself face to face with a Grimm of formidable size. You almost reached for your sword but remembered that you were still carrying Qrow. Sighing, you knelt to put him down, drawing your sword just in time as the Grimm lunged at you.
The force of the attack pushed you back, but you held your ground, silently thanking your naturally good reflexes as you pushed the Grimm away. It was bigger and stronger than anything you'd faced before, and you had to be quick on your feet to dodge its attacks. Barely escaping its clutches, you slipped out of the way just in time, but not without avoiding a scratch on your shoulder.
You set your stance, raised your sword, and prepared for its next attack, fully on your guard. In a flash it jumped at you, and you feared you reacted a little too late. But there was another flash, and the Grimm yelped, crippled by a blow that wasn't dealt by you. Standing there dumbfounded, you could just make out Qrow's figure in front of you. He sensed that you were about to ask him all kinds of questions, so he simply turned to you and said, "I can't have you dying on me, now can I?"
The ability of this man to function under the influence was a mystery to you, but you put that aside and focused on the fight. The two of you timed your attacks perfectly, whirling in and out of the action like you were dancing a ballet. Finally, you dealt the killing blow and as the adrenaline wore off you realized how exhausted you were.
Unfortunately, now that any sense of urgency was gone, Qrow went limp again. Groaning, you let him lean on your shoulder as you guided him the rest of the way home, unable to make out any of the words he was mumbling. You were going to have a talk with him when he sobered up in the morning.
When you finally got home you laid Qrow down on your bed, making sure he was comfortable, and turned to go to your couch. Wait, why were you giving him the bed? You paused for a minute, feeling like an idiot for instinctively wanting to take care of him.
"[Y/N]," Qrow whispered. You looked at him inquisitively and saw that his eyes were closed.
"Yes?"
"You have silver eyes. They're beautiful." He smiled stupidly. You couldn't help but blush.
"You're drunk," you replied, knowing he wouldn't remember any of this in the morning. Even so, you smiled as you fell asleep.
