"You're going down Uncle Qrow!" Yang yelled, slamming her fist onto Ruby's shoulder.
"Ow..." she whimpered softly.
"Oh, sorry Ruby..." Qrow smirked at Yang.
"It's okay, Ruby is one tough cookie."
"Yeah! You're going down you old crow!" Ruby tried to imitate Yang's ferocity but it came out more like a squeak. Qrow laughed.
"We'll see about that."

"Sorry [Y/N]. You're going to be a casualty of war," Yang said. "No hard feelings, you're just on the wrong side in this conflict." The game began and everyone was intently staring at the screen, rapidly inputting actions into their scrolls, which they were using as controllers. You were paired with Qrow against Ruby and Yang. Yang bit her lip in concentration.

"Noooooooo!" Ruby whined when her character's health reached zero. She began pouting. Uncle Qrow just didn't fight fair.
"Don't worry, I'll avenge you Ruby!" Yang yelled, becoming more intent on winning.

You stayed calm, dodging Yang's attacks and remaining composed. Yang had left herself exposed after her assault and in a flash Qrow finished her. Yang's eyes were burning with fury.
"It's okay sis," Ruby said. "We'll do better next time." She stuck her tongue out at Qrow.

"You girls have a ways to go before you're ready to be huntresses," Qrow told them honestly.
"We do not," retorted Yang.
"Just don't get cocky," Qrow said seriously.
Yang scoffed. "You're one to talk." Qrow shrugged.

You figured they could use a bit of family time, so excusing yourself, you stepped outside onto a balcony overlooking Beacon. You sighed, breathing in the cool air. It was getting late, and the sun was creating patterns of pink and orange across the sky. You could hear them playfully bickering inside. Eventually their conversation ceased and you were left in peaceful silence. There were lots of things on your mind.

"[Y/N]?" Yang had decided to join you, pulling you out of your thoughts.
"Oh, hey Yang." She walked up next to you, resting her arms casually on the railing.
"What's up?" She asked with a smile.
"I'm surprised I hadn't met your uncle sooner," you said without thinking. Yang laughed.
"Yeah, Qrow prefers solitude. Being a huntsman he always has to be on his guard. But he does always make time for family." You nodded. "He seems to have taken a liking to you though," she added, catching you off guard. You blushed. She threw her head back and laughed.

"What's so funny, firecracker?" You turned around to see Qrow standing in the doorway. Yang giggled.
"Oh, nothing. I'm gonna go convince Weiss to take a break from her homework," she responded, walking past Qrow as he gave her a somewhat confused look that you had to admit was adorable. Yang winked at you as she closed the door behind her.
