Reunion

You knock on what you're pretty sure is Ruby's door. Her directions weren't the best, but you had followed them diligently. The door swung open and Ruby jumped out in a flash. "[Y/N]!!!!!" She shouts as she tackle hugs you. She had always been a bundle of energy.
"Hey Ruby," you manage. A dog is barking from inside the room. In the blink of an eye Ruby lets you go and is back in front of you holding a dog.
"This is Zwei. Our dad sent him to us in the mail, which I'm not sure is entirely safe but oh well," she shrugged. "He's here now and we love him and he loves us and he's the best dog in the whole world, aren't you Zwei? Yes you are!" Zwei wags his tail and barks happily.

"[Y/N]!" Yang shouts from the other side of the room, waving at you and smiling. "We NEED to go shopping soon." You nod in agreement. Ruby sighs and rolls her eyes. "I'll never understand you guys."

Another girl peeks out from behind Yang, dressed mostly in black and seeming to shy away from the dog more than from you. "Come on Blake, you need to meet our good friend [Y/N]," Yang says, dragging her over to you. "Blake, [Y/N]... [Y/N], Blake," she says, gesturing.
"Hey," Blake says awkwardly, her yellow eyes refusing to make contact with yours.
"You guys are gonna love each other!" Yang says, beaming. "Can I go back to my book now?" Blake asks. Yang nods.

"And Weiss. Don't think you can hide away in your studies," Yang adds, and you notice another girl sitting at her desk, absorbed in a textbook. She rolls her eyes. "Can't you see I'm busy, Yang?"
"Yes, but I don't care," Yang retorts, slamming the textbook shut.
"Ugh, fine," Weiss groans.

Before you can make an attempt to introduce yourself, Yang does it for you. Weiss scoffs, flipping her ponytail behind her, her hair and her mannerisms equally icy. "You look upon a Schnee, so don't test my patience." You glance at Ruby.
"Yeah... She's always like this." Ruby says cheerfully. "You get used to it."

"What's all the commotion?" A man slurs from behind you, making you jump.
"UNCLE QROW!!!" Uncle Qrow??? Ruby springs into his arms. "Surprise," he says somewhat nonchalantly. "How's it goin' kiddo?"
Ruby talks at a million miles an hour. "Oh, pretty well. I finally have some friends here and our team is learning to get along and I'm learning so much and I love being here and oh, [Y/N]! This is my Uncle Qrow! Isn't he the coolest?" He winks at you.

"Um... well..." you begin. Qrow interjects. "I believe your friend and I have already met."
"Ooooooooh," Yang chimes in.
"Shut up Yang, I'm trying to study," Weiss snaps. Ignoring Weiss's attitude, Ruby gestures for you two to come in.
