Your POV

I walked into the Smith residence as usual and announced my arrival. Beth and Jerry walked over to me with their head held with shame.

"Can we speak with you for a moment?"  Beth asked.

I nodded and we went to the dining room. Rick had a little robot he was working on. He activated it and the robot looked at him.

"What is my purpose?" it asked.

"You pass the butter."

The little robot looked down sadly. "Oh my god."

"Yeah welcome to the club, pal." Rick said.

I giggled lightly and Rick looked at me and smiled.

"Hey, sweetie. Morty and I were going to go dimension hopping, wanna come?"

I nodded, "Just give me a minute and I'll be in the garage."

He nodded and left with his robot butter passer and I looked at Beth and Jerry. They sat down and I sat across from them.

"What did you wanna talk about?"

They looked at each other for a moment before Beth sighed lightly and looked at her hands.

"We want to.. be better to my dad."

I smiled and leaned back a little.

"You can start by accepting him for who he is."

Jerry looked a little annoyed with that.

"Something on your mind Jerry?"

He looked at me. "Why do we have to change for Rick, he's been nothing but a dick to us since he got here."

I sighed and leaned forward.

"He's a good role model for Summer and Morty, he's not a traditional one, but I'm sure he'd say that traditions are for stupid people. Alas, you can't have everything you want, he is Beth's father and your father in law, so naturally, you should give him the respect he deserves even if he is a sloppy drunk. He is only human after all."

They nodded and stood slowly. I smiled and stood and almost ran to the garage. Rick and Morty were in the space car waiting and I went to Morty's side and pushed him into the back. I looked at Rick and he smiled at me.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"You'll see."

I put my seat belt on and waited. This was the first trip I went on with these two. Looking around the cab of the ship I noticed bottles and cans that once had some kind of alcoholic drink in it. Glancing over to Rick as he drove I watched as he leaned over and put his arm on the door. Morty was busy looking out the window and things were quiet.

Reaching forward I clicked the button on the radio. A song started to play as I turned it down a little for it to play quietly. Rick glanced at me as I sat there and listened to it. It didn't take long for us to land on some planet. Getting out we looked around as the grass was pink and the sky was a light green. Turning to Rick I rose a brow.

"Where are we?"

"A planet that hasn't been named yet."

Looking to Morty he shrugged before we followed Rick. We walked into a small forest as he led the way. Not knowing where we were going I started to look at the trees and the grass. The trees looked like normal trees but when we passed one that was knocked over it had purple sap in it. Shaking my head I ran into Rick as he stopped walking.

He turned to look at me before he ruffled my hair. "We're here"

Stepping around him to look at what he was showing us I smiled as I saw a lake with a waterfall towards the north east part of it. There were some colorful animals that were walking around as they splashed in the water and drank from it. Looking over to Rick he smiled gently. "This is amazing, when did you find it?"

"I didn't find it, I created it. But it does need a name"

Nodding we walked down to the lake shore as a couple animals came up to Morty and I. Looking at Morty he had an animal that looked close to a bear while mine looked like a horse. Rick came down as he looked at Morty.

"They won't hurt you, I removed their aggressive traits in their DNA, nothing here will hurt you"

He walked next to me where he rubbed the side of the horse's head. i looked at him as he stood next to me. "I have a name idea"

Giving a nod he looked at me. "What is it?"

"Arona."

He smiled gently as he looked at me. Reaching into his pocket he pulled out a flag. Setting it on the ground he opened a circuit board and plugged the computer he hand into it. Typing something in and closing the small compartment something showed up on the flag. It was the name of the planet. He motioned for me to follow as Morty was playing with the bear cubs.

Standing on top of the small mountain he spun the flag around before he jabbed it into the ground. Turning to look at me he put his arm over my shoulder and pulled me closer to him. "Why did you make this?"

He hummed gently as he thought about it. "I wanted to do something for you, after you've done so much for me."

"What did I do?"

"You got my daughter and her idiot husband off my back. Secondly, you showed me there's more to life than drinking."

"What would that be?"

"Loving my family."

Smiling up at him I hugged him tightly. He hugged me back and smiled gently. Calling for Morty we decided to leave and  get some ice cream. Getting  into the car we were off to get some. Although he has a long journey ahead of him things were already changing with him. I just didn't know if that was good or not.
