Your POV

It had been almost a month since Rick turned hismelf in. Currently I was in the garage as I worked on a couple of projects. After I was able to be in here without bawling my eyes out, I decided that I wanted to work on some of the unfinished projects that he had left behind.
I was in the garage with my hair in a pony and my bangs hanging out. With safety glasses on looked at the object in my hand as leaned on the counter to work on it. Furrowing my brows I grabbed the screwdriver as I unscrewed a couple of things. Looking at the object I stopped when I heard an old but all too familiar voice.

"I love that lab coat on you"

Looking over I gasped as I stared at who was in the driveway. He walked into the garage as I backed into the worktable as I watched him.

"Of course it would always love it more if it was on the floor"

Stepping closer to me he put his hands on my hips as I reached out and touched his face. Dropping what I had in my hands I felt my eyes fill with tears. Pulling him closer to me I held onto his shirt as I cried like I did the day he left. Holding me tightly he listened to every sob, every sniffle.

Remembering what he did I pushed him off of me before I swung. I didn't have a specific place that I was aiming for I just did it. Turning to look at me as he rubbed his face he sighed.
"Yup, that's the girl I love" he said as he let his hands fall. He stepped closer to me but I rose my hand to hit him again. Stopping as he saw it he braced himself for the second hit, only it never came. My arms fell as I stared at him. "Y-you left me!"

"I know, I-"

"No, don't even start trying to talk your way out of this Sanchez, do you know how that made me feel? I tried to kill Jerry. I would have done it if Summer and Morty didn't pull me off of him. I finally got to have you and you go and take off the night after we're together. All you left me was your goddamn lab coat and a bunch of random gadgets you never finished."

New tears were falling and all he did was watch. "Say something!" He looked down for a second before he looked back at me. "I had a plan. I wouldn't have left if I knew I wouldn't have been able to come back to you. Christ, (y/n) why would I walk away from you when I finally got you to be mine?" i looked down before his left hand held my cheek and picked my face up to look at him.

Moving his thumb he wiped the tears away as I leaned into his touch. "If you ever do that again, I won't survive it. I've never hurt so much in my life like I did the day you left." He nodded as he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into him. Letting me cry some more he buried his face into my neck as I felt his own tears on my shoulder

Pulling away from me again he wiped the tears away as he smiled gently. Leaning down he kissed me sweetly. Something he didn't do before he left. Holding onto his arms I kissed back slowly. Looking at me as he pulled away he put his forehead to mine as I looked up at him. "I love you, (y/n). I should have told you that before I left, I don't know. I wanted to wait until after I could see you again"

Smiling as I looked up at him I sniffed a little "I love you too, but you already knew that" he chuckled as he nodded gently. "Damn right I did" he pulled me to him again as he kissed my head before the door opened. Looking over we saw Summer as she looked at us wide eyed.
"Mom!" she said as we heard fast footsteps. We watched as Beth came around the corner and stopped. The tears fell just as they did with me as she walked into the room slowly. Touching him as if she saw a ghost he pulled her into a hug before he looked over at Summer. Reaching his hand out to her she ran at him and hugged them both. Morty turned the corner as he rubbed his eyes. "What's with all the yell-" he stopped as he saw him.

"Rick!" he said as he ran at him and hugged the three of them. Ruffling his grandsons hair he smiled a little before he looked over to see Jerry. The three pulled away as they sniffed and wiped their eyes. Jerry walked up to Rick and stared at him for a second. "But... how?"

"I'm the smartest man in the entire multiverse. There isn't a prison that can hold me willingly." he said as Jerry nodded slowly. Reaching his hand out towards the younger man Jerry took it. Shaking their hands Rick sighed a little. "I'm sure you left my garage in order?" he asked and Jerry looked over to me.

"(y/n) hasn't been letting us in here."

He looked over to me as he let his hand fall to his side. "That's my girl" he said as he grabbed my hand gently. Looking down at me I smiled gently. Wrapping his arm around my waist he pulled me closer to him. Leaning my head on his shoulder I looked at the rest. I finally got him back after what felt like forever.

There was no doubt about it, this was where we both belonged. With each other. With the rest of the Smith's. In this garage. Going on adventures. Living day to day without knowing what would happen next. Beth decided to go make some dinner and Summer went to tell her friends about Rick. Jerry left to go back to his apartment and I sighed a little as Morty went to watch TV.

Rick pulled me closer to him before I took off his lab coat. he looked down at me as I handed it to him. "A scientist isn't complete without his lab coat" I said. He looked at it before he took it slowly. Setting it on the table behind him he looked at me. pulling me closer to him he kissed me deeply before he pulled away and smiled a little "No, a scientist isn't complete without his muse."
