A couple of hours later...
School dismissal
4:03 PM

After school ended, Natsu and I went to the Magnolia library to work on Natsu's summary paper, which he wasn't pleased about.

"Lucy, you really don't have to help me with my summary. I can do it by myself." Natsu argued.

"Well, if you could, it would've been finished by now."

Natsu grumbled, "Meanie."

I laughed at his reaction. "Come on, Natsu, I didn't mean it like that."

"Whatever!" Natsu said in an annoyed tone.

"Natsu!" I turned and saw a blue cat with wings fly over to us.

What the heck! A talking cat?! This day just got weirder.

A smile appeared on Natsu's lips. "Hey, Happy."

"What!? Natsu, you know this talking cat?"

"Yeah, he's my friend," Natsu said nonchalantly.

"Okay, that's not weird at all."

The blue cat frantically waved his paws in front of us. "Hello, I'm still here, you guys!"

"Right, how silly of me. Happy this is Lucy; Lucy, this is Happy."

"It's nice to meet you. I guess...."

Happy looked at me with wide eyes like he's never seen a girl.

"What are you looking for?" I asked, already annoyed with his constant staring.

"Wow, Natsu. When I told you to get a girlfriend, I didn't mean get an ugly girlfriend." Happy teased.

"Hey, watch your mouth, you stupid cat!"

Happy and Natsu both laughed.

"I was only joking. You're actually really pretty."

"Oh...thank you," I blushed.

"Now, don't get shy on us, Lucy."

"Seriously?"

"Natsu, your girlfriend, is weird; I mean, can she even take a joke?"

"She's not my girlfriend! She's my friend, and you should treat her with respect Happy!"

"It's alright, Natsu. A lot of people think I'm weird." I said reassuringly.

"Yeah, you are pretty weird."

"Hey! I was trying to reassure you. Don't you dare turn this back on me, you jerk!"

"Alright, I was just messing with you."

"You guys really have to stop joking around with me, or else you'll regret it!" I huffed.

"Anyway, where are you guys going?"

"We're going to the library. I'm helping Natsu with his homework."

There was a pause before Happy started cackling with laughter.

Natsu rolled his eyes.

"Now, what's so funny, you blue fur ball!?" I exclaimed.

"Natsu would never be caught dead at a library!"

"Shut up, Happy! Come on, Lucy, let's get out of here!"

Natsu grabs my hand and drags me towards the library.

"Hey guys, wait up! I was only joking!" Happy said before flying after them.

I was walking down the hallways looking for Lucy. School was finally over for the day, and I wanted to show Lucy one of the books we've been talking about lately.
