"Oh god" I heard Darry mumbled from the kitchen table, I peeked from the kitchen entrance and saw him surrounded by bills and notice letters.

I sighed sadly and walked to mine and sodas room. I lied down beside him and hugged him while he sleepily hugged me "Soda?" I asked and he hummed "yea?" He responded groggily.

"I'm thinking of getting a job too" I said and he shook his head "don't pony, me and Darry want you to graduate and go to college, that's what mom and dad would want you to do too" he mumbled the last part before kissing my head "just sleep, you got school tomorrow" he said and I nodded my head and drifted off to sleep next beside my beloved soda pop.

I walked to my locker and took out my back pack and walked to the school entrance when the bell ringed for dismissal.

I walked down the stairs and passed the bus.

'Im gonna look for a job to help out Darry and soda' I thought as I pass some houses. I went into town and looked everywhere for a help wanted sign but nothing.

I was about to give up before I heard a lady yelling " your fired Becky!" I turned to the left and saw a lady yelling before walking away. I looked at the taller girl.

She had dark brown long hair and clear skin with black eye shadow and pink lipstick with long eyelashes. She looked gorgeous. She had a black tank top on and black high waist shorts with high knee heeled boots.

I looked at her and she noticed me "looking for a job kid?" She asked and I flinched at her sudden voice that pierced through my thoughts, I nodded my head "y-yea" I said and she walked towards me. She bend down to my level since she's wearing high heels.

She examined my face and brushed my hair back "cute" she mumbled before getting up on her regular balance "ok if you want the job, meet me at this address tonight" she said as she passed me a piece of paper.

I looked at it and back at her "what it's about?" I asked and she chuckled "find out by yourself kid, right now, I got better things to do" she said before walking towards a park black car and drove off.

I looked down at the paper and sighed "doesn't hurt to find out, does it?" I asked my self before heading home.

I walked inside and take the smell of pasta cooking in the kitchen, Soda was cooking while Darry was in the living room doing bills. The stack of papers were dying down. I sighed sadly before walking upstairs and plopped down on my bed and decided to nap for a while.

I sighed again and let the darkness take over and consume me.

I shot my eyes open when soda shook me awake "Hey pone, dinners ready" he said before leaving half way until I spoke "soda, why can't I get a job?" I asked and he sighed before turning completely towards me instead of the exit.

He smiled weakly "because we would want you to graduate and have a good job that's you like and that pays good, we never graduated or went to college because we grew up too fast but it's not time for you to give up like me and Darry did, your still young and smart, we wouldn't like it if you got a job and throw all the hard work away for nothing"

He said before kissing my forehead "just be better then us and move on for a better life" he finished before leaving.

Sodas speech was special and caring but I'm sorry, I'll have to break it tomorrow "I'm sorry soda and Darry, I'll do both and still be better but not for me but for you two" I mumbled before leaving down stairs for pasta.

Dinner was normal, small talk once awhile. Soda talking about his job and what he's gonna do tomorrow. Darry would just smile and respond so little. While I just pick at my food and hum in response when they talk to me.
