Chapter 14: no pants

"Ponyboy, get up!" I groaned when Darry yelled my name, I lied on my back and quickly blocked the beaming sun that shined through the blinds of my window.

It's been three months and tomorrow is my auditions for being a dancer. I felt excited and nervous at the same time, there were so many possibilities that could happen.

I inhale and exhale and tried to relax, after all. Jonathan said stress cause lost of hair and mixed emotion. I soon relaxed and took my purple hoodie and some blue jeans and went to the washroom.

I changed and brushed my teeth, soon Johnny came in and saw me and blushed madly. I chuckled at him "whats up Johnny?" I asked as I spitted into the sink. He coughed while looking away "umm... your pants... they... um" he said while pointing at my pants.

I looked down and blushed "um..." I said and covered my behind "I never knew that my butt gotten that... big" I said and Johnny covered his mouth while looking away with a blush.

He sighed and looked at me "maybe you should change into something else" he said and I nodded my head yes and walked past Johnny with my hand covering my behind.

I tried on all my pants and still, they still make my butt big then it already is. I groaned as I threw my last pair of pants on the ground, I sat on the edge of the bed and held my head in my hands.

Johnny came in and froze in spot "um... no pants?" He asked and I nodded my head yes "no pants" I said and Johnny blushed again.

I sighed "what I'm I gonna do?" I asked and Johnny shrugged "you've tried on your shorts?" He asked and I nodded my head yes "nothing" I said and Johnny hummed "tried on sodas pants?" He asked and I nodded my head yes.

He sat beside me and we thought for a minute before Darry came inside the room "pony, there is dishes..." he stopped and looked at me and eyed me down and sighed in frustration "where are your pants?" He asked me and I looked at him and shrugged "none of them fit" I said and Darry scoffed "since when? Your pants never changed since you were 12" he said and I rolled my eyes "Well, I'm sorry Darry but it looks like I'm at that age where my body grows" I said and Darry rolled his eyes "it can't be that bad" he said and I looked at Darry.

I scoffed and picked one of the pants on the ground and tried them on but it stopped mid thigh and I looked at Darry. He hummed "I guess you did get a bit big around the thighs" he said and I pulled them down and threw them across the room and sat on the bed "what I'm I gonna wear now?" I asked and Darry shrugged "I guess you'll have to stay home until we get the money for new pants" he said.

I remember that I gotten 600 dollars from my job but I gave about 250  to Darry's boss to give to Darry on his pay day and soda too so I won't get pants anytime soon. I gotten a few hundred and I gave half and half for ginger and Cole for they're apartment complex.

I guess I should have been more smart about having money, I sighed and nodded my head yes. Then, the phone ranged through out the house and Darry went to pick it up.

Johnny rubbed my shoulder "do you have work today?" He asked and I sighed and nodded my head sadly "yeah, but I guess I'll have to stay home" I said and Darry yelled for my name.

I went downstairs, in my underwear and waited for Darry to tell me something. Darry eyed me for a minute before giving me the phone "it's a girl" he said and I nodded my head and placed the phone to my ear "Hello?" I asked.

"Hey Ponyboy" ginger greeted as the sound of her moving on the other line, I sat on the floor beside the phone and hummed "yes?" I asked and ginger giggled "guess what Ponyboy!" He said excited and I grinned "what?" I asked and she yelled "I'm pregnant!" I pulled the phone away from my ear and waited for her to relax.
