"Alright, chapter 10 homework is due on Monday.  Don't procrastinate," I yelled out as my students piled out the door.  I grabbed my bag and headed out to my car.  Lately I've been feeling sick and I had a doctors appointment  set up.  I got into my car and called Valfrid to let him know I'll be home a bit later than usual.

'Your call has been forwarded to voice-' whatever.  I soon made it in front of the doctor's office. I walked up to the front desk to see a nurse typing away on her computer, "I have an appointment with Dr. Harvey."

She looked at me, gave me a nasty look and continued with her typing, "He'll call for you in a bit."  I nodded and walked away.  I took a seat in the chair by the corner.  I called Valfrid again, but had no luck.  

"Anahita Swen?" The nurse called out.  I got up and followed her to one of the rooms to get my height and weight measured.  Once I got to the room, I sat and waited for a bit when the doctor came in.

"Good afternoon Mrs. Swen," Dr. Harvey said, "I've been told you've been feeling unwell recently."

"Yes, I've been throwing up recently and I've been having pains in my lower back," I said.  

He jotted it down and moved over to me, giving me the normal check up, "Have you had any nausea, cravings, headaches?"  I nodded and he continued to write down stuff.  He looked at me and smiled, "This may sound weird, but have you been sexually active recently?"

I nodded, "My husband and I have, but it's been over 3 weeks since we last had sex."

"Were you using any protection?" He asked.

"Yes," I said.  Valfrid has been very busy with his work, that I barely seen him.

The doctor went into the drawers and pulled out a cup.  He then handed it to me, "Can you please go pee in this Mrs. Swen?"

I nodded and left to use the restroom.  I hate doing the pee in the cup thing.  It's just annoying, because you can get it on your hand and that's just gross.  Once I was done, I capped it and washed my hands.  I washed the cup too, because that would be gross to just give it to them without at least wiping it off.  I entered the room again and waited for the doctor to come back.  I again tried to call Valfrid, but he didn't answer.  Soon the doctor came in again, "So I have some great news Mrs. Swen.  You are 4 weeks pregnant."  

My heart stopped.  I am pregnant.

*At Home*

I twiddled my fingers as I waited for Valfrid to get home.  What would he say?  I know he said a lot that he wanted a bigger family, but did he truly mean that?  Will he be happy?  Is this a good time?  

"Mom are you okay?" I looked over to see Harmony peeking over at me.  Harmony was now in 7th grade.  I smiled and walked over to her, looking at her project.

"I'm okay baby, I'm just thinking about some stuff," I grabbed the seat next to her, "what are you working on?

She sighed, "We're currently learning about cells, so I'm creating a plant cell.  It's kinda rigorous, but very simple to do at the same time.  I just don't understand why we have to do this."

I laughed at her statement, "You surely are your father's daughter."

"What was dad like in school?" She asked me.  

I stopped and looked at her.  She grew up to be so gorgeous.  I pushed back one of her bangs, "Your father was a completely and utter idiot.  He would get into trouble and dated a lot of girls."  She gave me a look of disappointment.  I then said, "But deep down your father was a sweetheart.  He tried his best to make me smile and took good care of me......"
