Guilt flooded over my being as I sat in the dining room with Valfrid and this random man. I can't believe I let myself fall that low! How could I betray Marcus like that? What do I do now? Do I just act as if everything is normal? Like nothing happened? I can't do that. Valfrid soon cleared his throat, "What is it that you want from me father?"
This guy is his father? They looked nothing alike. His dad gave a grin, "My, I can't visit my son?"
"No you can't," Valfrid's voice was laced with hatred. I was confused as to why, but I left it alone. I observed from where I sat.
His father unfolded his hands, then again, and again. He sat straight and smiled, "I came to see Harmony."
That seemed to spark something in Valfrid, "You won't see her."
"I'm her grandfa-" "Fuck that. You will not see her or touch her. You dare, I will make sure your fucking drunk ass gets thrown into jail. Don't test me." His eyes showed he meant every word. Hatred was laced in him the minute he saw his father. I grabbed his hand and squeezed it.
He looked at me, "Calm down Valfrid. Yelling won't solve the problem, it causes more. I'm here, relax." I traced the lines on his hand. I hate having him angry. He changed so much, became a respectable man, caring father, and a protector instead of a destroyer.
He took my hand and breathed out. He closed his eyes and spoke, "I respect Anahita enough to contain myself, but you won't have any actions with Harmony. You aren't a good example for her. She needs a mother figure and a caring family. Not a drunk grandfather and a good for nothing mom. She's too precious and she doesn't deserve that life. She needs something stable and happy, not what I had."
"Valfrid you act as if you didn't have a good life! You had everything! All the money, freedom, you were a spoiled child! Don't give me that crap!" His father cracked into laughter, "All you didn't have is nothing!"
Valfrid bit his lip, "Everything? Yes I did. What I wanted was a mother who loved her husband and a dad who loved his wife. What I got? Parents who had affairs and would drink their sorrows. I won't have Harmony go through that."
"You can't have everything! Grow the fuck up!" His father laughed at him. How could he think that just because Valfrid had all the money and toys he wanted everything would be fine?
I got up, "You are horrible! Just because you gave him all the toys and money in the world, doesn't fix what you did! He was a child that was raised without love! You are a sick man! Now listen to me. You ever dare let Harmony see your pathetic ass of a father, I will, myself, break you in every fucking way! That isn't a threat, but a promise. Now get the fuck out!" The room was quiet until Valfrid's father busted into laughter once more.
"You can't tell me what to do! You're just a slut! You want Valfrid's money!" He turned to Valfrid, "Be careful, she's a gold digger."
I saw red.
I slapped him across the face. His father was shocked, even confused. I couldn't believe what I just heard, "Unlike you I love him! More you ever can! Call em whatever you want, but you dare insult him or Harmony, you're done." I grabbed his ear, pulling him out of the room, kicking him in the back of his knee, making him fall. "GET THE FUCK OUT!"
Valfrid called for the bodyguards. They carried him out and gave him a warning. I was fuming with anger. Valfrid came up to me, wrapping his arms around my waist, "Thank you Love."
"What for?"
"Being my everything," my heart swelled at his statement. I then remembered Marcus. Pulling away, I gave him a look.
"I'm with someone else. We need to stop," I stared into his hazel eyes that melt my insides every time. I turned around, but was pulled back.
"I'm not giving up," the was the last thing I heard from him. I thought about those words the entire way home. Why can't he just find someone else to harass and fall in love with? I couldn't help but also be intrigued with those words. He was still going to advance, even if I didn't want his love.
Valfrid's driver dropped me off, bidding me a farewell. I showered up and went in early, I wanted this day to end already.

"So what's wrong? You have been a bit down while speaking to me," Marcus typed away on his laptop, narrowing his eyes. I wanted to tell him, but something in me held me back. My throat felt as if it went dry and I couldn't form a word.
"Nothing, I was thinking about what I am going over with Harmony," I watched as he made a face. He hated it. I felt bad that he hated it, but also felt a bit of 'I don't give a fuck'.
"Okay, just be careful," I ended the call and got my supplies ready. I won't punish Harmony, because there's something going on between Valfrid and I.
Mother's Day was coming up. I wanted to do a few projects with her so she could give it to her grandma or her aunt. I brought paint, markers, color pencils, and paper. She was going to make a card about how much she loved them. It was to test her creative thinking and her writing capablities.
Once I walked in, she bounced up, giving me a big huge. I hugged her back and kissed her head. She's just so dear. She dragged me to her room and we sat at her desk. I pulled out the stuff and we began.
"I don't know my mommy," she fiddled with her paper.
"Well, you can make it for your Aunt and Grandma," I tried to get her to smile.
"They are not mommy," she seemed angry. I smiled and picked her up, looking up into her beautiful hazel eyes.
"Sometimes people don't have a mommy around, so they make it to a adult that they love very much and that takes care of them. Just because that person didn't give birth to them, doesn't mean they don't love you as much as a mom would," she looked around and nodded.
"Can I make as much as I want?" She grabbed a stack of paper.
I smiled and nodded. I made one for my mom for fun. Even as an adult, I still love having fun. Also I knew my mom would getting a gift like this. She loved everything that Narh and I made for her. She would smile and kiss our faces like crazy.
Valfrid walked in and smiled, "What are you making baby girl?"
"A Mother's day project for Grandma and Aunty," she continued. He smiled and kissed her cheek. He began helping her, cutting out shapes and writing stuff with you. After closing them off, she handed them over for me to see.
They were adorable. How she wrote how much she loved them and how they are special to her. She soon handed me another one. I tilted my head, "Who's this for."
"You," I was shocked. Looking at Valfrid, he was too. I felt my heart swell as I read the card,
"I do not know your name. I will call you mom. I love you so much! Thank you! Happy Mothr Day!"
I looked at her. Her cute face was in a smile, her nose crinkled. Her cheeks red from smiling, her brown hair in her face. Her eyes held happiness and admiration. She looked so happy. I was happy. I reached out and brought her towards me, kissing her all over.
So this is what my mom felt. Happy and loved.
I wanted her to feel it too. I kissed and held onto her, whispering, "Thank you Harm."
"I love you mom," I almost cried.
