"ANNIE HURRY UP!" I rushed out of my room, after hearing my mother scream my name. When my mom yells, shit goes down!
I get down there to see Adeline, my mom, her friend, and Narh ready to go. I grabbed my cap and we went to the car. Today was my last day as a high school student. Narh decided to mess with me and poke me. This was him telling me goodbye. After this, I would be hoping on a plane and flying to France.
Narh got accepted into NYU. Aramis was pissed at that. Narh was going to make the most out of today and tomorrow. I am leaving today and Daisy is leaving tomorrow. Something tells me Adeline and my mom won't be sleeping at our house tonight.
As we entered into the school, my eyes found our friends, "I can't believe you all passed high school!" After my smart-ass comment, they sent me glares.
"Well little miss smarty-pants, I did and in style!" Aramis flipped her hair, earning a laugh from me.
"Surprising," Kevin soon got smacked for that comment. If you're wondering why Narh wasn't opening his mouth, it's because he was currently making out with Daisy.
"Those two need a room," Beaton laughed at Narh after receiving the middle finger. I watched as everyone laughed and teased each other. I couldn't believe these were my friends. I was happy, but I would be even happier if Valfrid was here. He knows I'm leaving today.
"Students can you please take your seats and get quiet," we all hugged and split up to go to our seats. Even if my last name started with a L, I was the first. I had to give my valedictorian speech.
"Today we would like to honor our senior class of 2017," everyone cheered, "it's been a hard and rocky year for all of you, but guess what you survived!" Everyone chuckled at that statement.
"Now, as your Principle I am obligated to tell you I will miss you and that I know you will all succeed. But as a person who watched you grow, I know that both of those are true. Even if most of you were pains and some of you visited my office daily, I will miss seeing you," Valfrid came to mind, "now I have a bit of advice to give you. Don't think life will be easy, because if you do just remember the day that you had your first period girls," all of us groaned, "and boys remember the first day of testing," the guys groaned even louder.
"Second, don't let the thoughts of others bring you down. You all are pains in some way, but let that stubbornness, that I know all of you have, keep you fighting and trying your best. Finally, have a little fun in life. Don't be Mr. Winfield," a roar of laughter filled the room, "We love you Mr. Winfield, but you are a grouch. Anyway, life doesn't always have to suck. Sometimes you have to be a smart-aleck or be pain, remember laughing keeps you young. I will miss all of you, yes even you Mr. Swen," I turned in my seat to see Valfrid sneaking into the ceremony.
He stood straight and smiled, "Samantha we all know I was your favorite student. Hell I've seen you four times in one day!"
Laughs and giggles fluttered the room. One even escaped from my lips, "Oh I remember Mr. Swen. You decided that I was your favorite person to irritate!"
"Yes ma'am, you were. I can honestly say that," he then sat down, smiling at our principle.
"Your poor parents, dealing with you everyday. Well students I am not one of those average principles, who gives an hour long speech, so lets welcome up Anahita Lynn," claps and cheers from my friends were heard.
I stood from my seat and made my way to the stage. Once I got there, Mrs. Newman hugged me and made her exit. I adjusted myself and began, "I don't have to tell you who I am, you already know. If not, have you ever seen a small blonde girl with Narayan Lynn? Well that's me," people laughed, "I'm the school's nerd. I've attended the same school as you guys for the last four years, so if you never noticed that, you're oblivious."
