"Hello? Hi? Can you hear me?", Simon practically yelled.
"Simon, is this really the best time to call me?", I smiled and playfully rolled my eyes as I watched him struggle to decipher what I said.
"What did you say? I can't really hear you," he shouted again over the basketball fans that were cheering on their teams.
"How's Boston?", I yelled back, realising it was pointless for me to yell when it was his side that was so loud.He gave me a thumbs up and flipped the facetime camera so that I could see the basketball game. Honestly, I had very little interest in basketball but I nodded my head enthusiastically until he flipped the camera back to his face.
JJ and Tobi popped their head into the frame and waved before turning their attention back to the game. "Maybe I'll just call you back later when I get to the hotel," Simon suggested.
"Okay bye, love you," I replied, relieved he finally realised it was impossible to communicate with him while he was at the sporting event.
"What did you say?", he looked serious and seemed to be paying attention on only me.
"Bye?", I replied confused. I watched him shrug, wave and then hang up.SIMON'S P.O.V
As I hung up, I looked back at the game in progress, not really focusing on what was going on. "Hey guys," I called out to JJ and Tobi who were sitting next to me but were far more into the game, like the rest of the crowd.
I felt their heads turn as they shifted their attention to me. "I think Hailey just said she loves me," I state confused.
"What did you say back?", Tobi pipes up.
"Nothing really," I say, scratching my head as I try to replay the conversation I just had. "I don't think she meant it like that, she didn't realise she said it.""Well, do you love her?", JJ asked, still watching the game intently.
"I mean, I've never had a girlfriend, I don't really know what love is," I shrug. "How am I meant to know?", I asked, as if JJ could provide me with advice on love."You'll know," he said reassuringly, tapping my leg. I sighed and put my phone away, trying to focus on the game we had come to see.
