POV Matt
Phil had gone off to talk to the staff and get everything secure for Tara being here, and to find out where his family was, we didn't want them anywhere near Tara at this moment, not until we had her settled back with us. He had told our PA's that we would be in Bahrain for the next two weeks on holiday and cancelled our appointments, no one except the staff here knew where we were. He had had Tara's helicopter moved into the barn and the estate gates closed.
I had stayed watching over her as she slept, thinking about what she had told Phil, how could we not have noticed what they were doing to her and how could we now help her work through that trauma, the Dom in me knew it was going to be painful for her, we would have to break down her barriers and build her back up piece by piece, she would have to re-live each attack with us there to help her through it, but it was the only way to make her whole and strong again. Then I wanted to kill those responsible.
My eyes roamed her small figure, she had lost weight and even in sleep her body wrapped around itself protecting herself, gone was the innocent curious girl buried under the watchful exterior. I thought back to when Phil had first told me about her, I had been away when they met, initially he hadn't wanted to tell me anything but then after each of the weekends they spent together he had changed and when I returned just before their third weekend together I had been amazed by the difference in my cold closed up friend, he had been excited about life again and he had finally told me all about her, I had been curious but not really expecting to be interested until I met her, she was perfect, innocent, even after her introduction to our world and open but we had frightened her and she had run.
I remembered Phil's reaction, he had been furious with her for disobeying him, worried about her getting hurt and could think of nothing else but getting her back.
I knew then he was in love with her and had jokingly suggested he should marry her before I did, not expecting him to ask her that very question later after we had caught her and she had accepted me within their relationship.
Whilst she was Phil wife, she was both of ours, and would remain so, I had no interest in anyone else and in the five years she had been gone, I had come across more that one bonding ceremony that would tell the world what she was to both of us - ours, something we would work towards together.
POV Philip
I returned to the study carrying a tray of sandwiches, knowing neither one of us would want to eat away from her at the moment. Matt was still sat watching Tara, a drink in his hand and I could almost hear the gears in his brain turning - no doubt thinking of Tara and revenge.
I had arranged a team to investigate where my sister and brother were and what they were up to, so when we are ready we could deal with them.
Initial investigations had told me my brother was skiing in Aspen, so I had arranged a trusted team to go to his apartment and search for anything relating to Tara, I knew it was a long shot but she wouldn't feel safe till those photos were dealt with.
"How did it go" Matts voice broke into my thoughts, I set the tray down between us and grabbed the decanter and a glass and refilled his glass as well as my own before siting down "we're secure here, I've got teams looking into them, he's away so Joe's team is going to search his apartment" I told him grabbing a sandwich and passing it to him.
"Why would they do this, that's what I don't understand, what did they hope to gain by hurting her" Matt muttered
"God knows, but we will find out then they will pay for what they did" I tell him.
"Even if they're family" he asked looking at me.
"They are no longer my family not now, not after this" I growl.
We settle into watching her, "you know we are going to have to break her down to help her" Matt states.
"Yes, I know" I sigh "she's going to hate us and fight every step but I would rather she fight than accept it and live in fear"
"When do we start"
"Tonight, I've a playroom ready upstairs and if we move her while she's still sleeping she won't know if we are still here or have moved her elsewhere" I tell him.
"Cameras?"
"Yes and audio, the room is totally secure, it's internal so no windows and has its own bathroom"
"How do you want to do this" he asks
"I think she will sleep the rest of the night, so if we move her soon, we can also grab some sleep, we can monitor the feeds from our phones, just log in, only you and I have access"
"Restraints?"
"No, not without us there, she can't get out without us and I think given what she's said happened that might be a trigger for her"
We finished the sandwiches before Matt carefully scooped Tara up and I led the way upstairs, getting into the room Matt looked round, "nice"
I turned down the cover on the bed and Matt laid her down, she was still dressed in her clothes from the wedding, I walked over to the dresser and pulled out a nightgown and we quickly stripped her off and redressed her before covering her up and dimming the lights, gathering up her dirty clothes we left the room.
Matt was fiddling with his phone logging into the security feed, "I'm in, let's hope she sleeps through"
"I'll see you in the morning" I tell him a small smile "it's good to have her back"
"It is" he agrees.
