"Babe, you're going to be fine. The needle hasn't even touched your face yet." Shane sighs, trying to pull my hands away from blocking my face.
"Says you!" I yell, clearly annoyed.
"Ms. Bishop, please, I promise you are going to be okay." The doctor says, probably annoyed himself.
"You'll never take me alive!" I blurt out dramatically.
"Add, if you don't relax, they may medically calm you down." Shane warns with a smirk on his face.
"Maybe I want that." I shrug, still hiding my face from the doctor.
Finally fed up, Shane grips my wrists and holds my hands down by my sides. The doctor, making sure not to miss his opportunity, takes this time to reach up and inject the numbing medicine into my cheek.
I let out a yelp, and then after the doctor finishes, Shane releases my hands.
He earned a smack to the back of the head.
A few seconds later, the feeling in my cheek goes away and I sigh in relief. No more throbbing pain.
The doctor then assures me that I wouldn't feel a thing, as he reaches up and begins stitching my face.
The doctor is right, I don't feel a thing.
"See, you panicked for nothing." Shane smiles, holding my hand tightly.
"Shut up." I glare, still keeping my grip on his hand.
"Alright, finished." The doctor smiles, proud of his completed job.
"That's it?"
"That's it. Now, you're going to be swollen and sore for the next few days. The black and purple bruising should diminish over the course of the next two weeks. Keep an ice pack on your face for ten minutes a couple times a day to help with the swelling. I will prescribe you with some pain killers to help you out, but only take them when absolutely necessary." The doctor instructs.
I nod at his instructions and take my discharge papers.
"We've contacted your parents, since you are underage, and they will be billed for your stay." The doctor says, before leaving the room.
"Great. I'm sure they're on their way here." I sigh, pulling out my phone to text Angie and Jax. I tell them that I won't be able to make it to Fred's and that I might have to wait and see them at school tomorrow. We all decided to skip school today anyway, because of the party last night.
"Addilyn!" I hear my frantic mother yell.
"Mom!" I shout back. After a few seconds, the curtain to my room is flung sideways, as my mom and dad enter the room.
My parents take one look at my face and I can't even tell you what they're feeling.
"Oh my... my baby girl..." My mother's face winces upon seeing me, and she already has tears in her eyes.
My dad immediately looks to Shane, the anger in his eyes something I have never seen before.
"Did you do this?" My dad takes a step toward Shane, but Shane doesn't falter, instead he stands his ground.
