She wears them on her scraped knees,

The scrapes are gone.

She wears them on her scabbed elbows,

Even though there's nothing there.

She's falling apart,

Falling apart, not on the outside.

But, she simulates what she feels,

On the inside. 

Because she's falling apart,

And she doesn't even know it.

She just doesn't feel right,

Nothing feels right.

She doesn't know how to deal with the pain,

So she slaps a bandaid on,

And smiles with tears in her eyes,

And dirt on her palms.
