I know I'm a fool,
I never follow the rules,
I know I'm a child,
But, my god, you drive me wild.
The single memory,
Is a paragraph of melodies.
The contradictory,
Sentences I now write,
Not something I can fight.
I'm headed straight for the floor,
Show me to the back door.
If you want me to leave,
I'll leave.
Be my lover,
Not a friend,
Not another.
I swear I wouldn't try so hard,
If I could just talk to you.
But my heart,
Won't let my brain,
Open my mouth.
There's pictures in my head,
but I'm drawing blanks.
If all I could do,
Was get a smile out of you,
and a "Yes"
I'd be at my best.
I swear,
I swear.
I know I'm a bear,
but my dear,
What am I supposed to do?
Be my lover,
I won't blow your cover,
All I want is your presence,
Not your acceptance.
Be my lover.
