Jordie's POV:
It was match day. I woke up early, had a shower and got dressed into a pair of black skinny jeans and a Liverpool shirt Alex had given me. After heading downstairs for some breakfast, I brushed my teeth, pulled on a jacket, coat and shoes and headed out of the house. I'd told my mum that I was going out with Toby for the day and I wasn't technically lying. I was going out with Toby, just in Liverpool.
After a short walk to the train station, I looked around for Toby. He was usually late so it didn't worry me, I just sent him a text telling him to hurry up. Sure enough, minutes later he arrived.
"Hey man."
"Hey Jord, are we alright for time?"
"Yeah, no thanks to you."
"Sorry, I smashed a milk bottle and my mum would've killed me if I'd left it there."
"It's calm, let's just get our tickets."
We hadn't bought our tickets beforehand because neither of us wanted the transaction to show up on our credit card bill, where our parents could see it. We headed to a ticket machine and purchased two tickets to Sandhills station, near the stadium. Then we headed to our platform, where our train was fortunately already waiting. Climbing onto it, I walked down the aisle and found a table. Toby and I both sat down and I pulled my phone out. The two of us had regular tickets as I wanted to experience the game as a proper fan, but Alex had said that he would send me some paperwork to allow us to get into some kind of VIP area after the match. I had one text notification, from Perrie.
Perrie🐰: I think Alex forgot to send the paperwork but here's some that'll get you in x [1 attached PDF]
Attached was a PDF file of the forms to give us permission to go inside the stadium after the match. I thanked her and saved the PDF.
"I've got the papers." I said to Toby.
"Good, I still can't believe he's your dad."
"Toby, it's been a week, have you still not got used to it?"
"You say a week like that's a long time."
"I guess I just accept news quicker than you do."
"Yeah. So what's going to happen then? We get to the train station, get a bus there, watch the match and then what?"
"We'll go to the right entrance and show the paperwork to a steward and they'll let us in. Trust, we got this." I replied, putting an earbud in. Toby nodded and put his earphones in.
For the rest of the journey, we listened to music, scrolled through social media and talked to each other. After a while, we pulled into the station and got off the train. Bypassing the ticket barriers, we exited the building and looked out for the shuttle bus that would take us to the stadium.
"Is that it over there?" Toby asked, pointing at a crowd of buses in the distance.
"Yeah I think so." I replied and we began walking towards it.
"You excited to see your dad again?"
"Yeah, I see him a lot at the moment though, so it's not like the first time in ages or anything."
"No, but it's still cool after you didn't even know who your dad was."
"Yeah def."
"Hey, don't be creeped out but I did some research on him." Toby said and I laughed. "Yeah, anyway, he's got two kids and he's married to the fittest fucking bird you've ever seen." Toby looked at me, filled with excitement. I threw my head back in laughter.
