It all started out as a normal day. Until the announcement.
"Attention staff and students we are now undergoing a lockdown...."
He guided us to a small corner in the big theatrical room where we huddled together. He turned out all but one light so he could pay attention to the mischievous children. Another factor to realize is that in this room there were about 3 doors leading to the hallways and the outside. We were huddled by a door leading to the cafeteria, a door on the same wall as we were lead to the outside. Lastly, the door all the way across from us lead to the hallway. And, yes we could see this door clearly so if a bad guy did peek through the window he would see us awkward children sitting there awkwardly like "Hi he made us sit here."
Of course, some of us children noticed and started raising our hands to point out this.
"If there was a bad guy wouldn't we be in his line of fire?"
"Well there's nowhere else for you guys to hide," he replied
"Also why haven't you locked any doors?"
"Because it isn't a real lockdown," he replied
"But what if it was?"
"Let's hope one never happens," he replied
Even before this happened it was always a question "What would Mr. Mayhem do during a lockdown?" and that day we got our answer.....sort of.....
