Blayne"Wow"
That word floated around in my head, as he continued to stand behind me.
Didn't know if I was more nervous about the fact that this man had 'found' me, or the fact that he'd never seen me in a hijab.
He'd also caught me singing.
"Wow...wassup?"
Gulping hard, I decided to turn around, taking him in.
Dressed in a long sleeved black shirt, black joggers, and some low top black-and-white Vans, he looked high as hell...and tired. His braids were fresh though, as a gold chain hung from his neck, along with a gold watch on his left wrist.
He looked amazing.
He just looked at me...almost like he hadn't saw me in forever, as his eyes quickly went to my hijab before meeting them back with mine.
"Hey" I greeted back.
A goofy smirk now etched his face as his eyes became squinted, taking in my hijab again.
"Alright if I join you?" He questioned.
Quickly darting my eyes around, I slowly nodded.
"Uh yeah...yeah" I replied, as he now sat to the right of me.
An awkward silence now filled the early morning air, as I faced forward.
He was staring at me...hard.
I began to pick with the strap on my purse before hearing his voice again.
"Yo...you sounded amazing" He started.
"Thanks, but that was horrible" I replied, causing him to chuckle.
"Naw that actually sounded pretty official" he complimented, as I smacked my lips.
"Ahhh" he sung, clearly trying to mock me.
He sounded horrible.
So horrible, that his cracked voice made me laugh...just a little.
"Aha...what...that was shit?" He questioned, as I shook my head.
"Yeah...and you know it was" I answered, causing him to snort.
"Yeah whatever...How you been anyway?" He asked next.
"Alright" I answered.
"Alright? Das it?"
I nod in response, still feeling those eyes on me, while I continued to look ahead.
"What about you?"
"I been pretty good...could always be betta though"
"That's good"
"Is it?" He questioned.
I squinted my eyes.
"Excuse me?"
"You said that's good, that I'm just good" he paused.
Okay.
"That's not good" He added.
Yeah...he was definitely faded.
"And why would that be?" I questioned
"Cause...I could be betta than good. A whole lot betta than good" he replied.
