We continued to walk for a lot longer than I expected. I kept asking Jesse if she wanted to take a break at all, but she keeps turning it down. She's so strong and independent. I have no idea how she does all that she does. I wonder how she feels about being stranded down here with me. I hope she doesn't feel awkward at all.

Jesse sighed, "Okay, I'm ready for a break now. Who knew this tunnel would be so full of twists, turns, and nothing?"

"Alright," I was glad that she finally decided to take a break, earlier on I could see her start getting really drowsy. I helped her to sit down against a rock. She grumbled, "Broken ankles really suck."

"I bet they do." I agreed, "I can keep watch, you go ahead and get some sleep."

Jesse looked up at me, "Are you sure? I don't want to..." she dozed off for a moment and popped back up, "Make you watch if you don't.. want to.." She trailed off, fully asleep now. I laughed quietly to myself and walked to her and tucked the blanket over her. She nestled into it, and then I sat on a rock nearby. I thought about the nightmare I had been having the past few nights. They all ended in the same, twisted way. I shouldn't worry Jesse about it. It's probably just my nerves messing with me, right?

I pushed the thought away, and pulled out some wood blocks that I'd packed and got right to work on my project.
