Chapter 14

"What's going on with the other apprentices?" Flareheart asked Nightpaw. "They've been staring at you and Morningpaw." "I know!" Nightpaw replied. "It's weird." "Do you know why their watching you and Morningpaw?" Flareheart meowed. "They look like they know something." "Yea..." Nightpaw mumbled. "Anyway I'm going hunting with Morningpaw, wanna come?" "I can't." Flareheart said. "I have to go on boarder potrol." "Okay." Nightpaw meowed. "See ya Flareheart!" Nightpaw padded off to the camp entrance to wait for Morningpaw." Morningpaw padded over after a minute or two. "Okay you ready to hunt?" Morningpaw asked. "Yea." Nightpaw replied as he padded out of camp. "You know how all the other apprentices have been staring at us?" Morningpaw began. "I think I know why." "What?" Nightpaw asked. "Why?" "Flarheart said we talked in our sleep." Morningpaw replied. "Well the other apprentices could have heard us say something, about the prophecy." "About The prophecy?" Snowpaw began while padding up. "We know something's up." Nightpaw and Morningpaw stared at Snowpaw nervously. "What prophecy?" Nightpaw stuttered. "We don't know anything about a prophecy." "Yea, Okay." Snowpaw began. "Then why did you two say this: Morning and Night will tear apart, and darkness will rule all?" "Told you." Morningpaw whispered to Nightpaw. "Oh I got an idea." "So?" Snowpaw asked. "Why did you say that?" "Oh for some reason we say random things in our sleep- I mean my sleep." Morningpaw replied. "It's odd..." "Okay..." Snowpaw mumbled while padding off. "Phew..." Nightpaw sighed. "How did you come up with that?" "Cheetahclaw taught me how not to show a lie." Morningpaw meowed. "And I'm glad she did!" "Well let's get more hunting done." Nightpaw said. "We need to prepare for leafbare."

Once back Nightpaw headed over to the apprentices den. Morningpaw headed to see Flareheart. "Hey Morningpaw!" Flareheart purred. "Back so soon?" "Yea." Morningpaw replied. "We got done putting the fresh kill into the pile." "Okay." Flareheart meowed. "I remember seeing Snowpaw running to the other apprentices, after getting back." "Yea." Morningpaw began. "She followed us." "What?" Flareheart asked. "Why?" "Because she think Nightpaw and I have a secret." Morningpaw replied. "It's really odd." "Okay." Flareheart mumbled. "Why do they think that?" "Because they thought I said something in my sleep." Morningpaw lied. "And Nightpaw too." "Alright." Flareheart meowed. "I have to go see ya Morningpaw!"
