A moon later Otterpelt gathered Nightpaw, Snowpaw, and Orangepaw. "Okay, all of you." Otterpelt mumbled. "Barkstar asked me to test your hunting skills." "Snowpaw you'll take the path along the thunderpath to snakerocks." He Meowed. "Orangepaw, you will go across the stream as far as the Owltree. And you Nightpaw, You'll go into the woods behind the twoleg nests." The apprentices nodded and headed to where Otterpelt told them. Nightpaw hunted for a few hours and started to hear noises. "Whats that noise?" Nightpaw mumbled to himself, and padded toward it. The noise stopped, and Nightpaw looked around him, and continued hunting. All of a sudden he felt something picking him up, it threw him against the tree and he blacked out.
"Oh hey Otterpelt?" Darkstorm asked. "Have you seen Nightpaw?" "No." Otterpelt mewed. "He should be back by now." "I checked all around camp." Darkstorm replied. "I can't find him." "Well that's strange." Otterpelt mumbled. "Only kits can play hide-and-seek. Nightpaw's too big." "Well i'll continue looking." Darkstorm replied. "I just hope I find him." She padded away and kept looking.
The next day Otterpelt padded into the apprentice den. "What in the name of starclan?" Otterpelt mumbled. "Nightpaw still isn't here?"
"How was your hunting assessment last night?" Morningpaw asked. "Great!" Snowpaw purred. "I got alot of fresh kill!" "Great job!" Morningpaw purred back. She glanced over to see Otterpelt padding toward her. "Hey Morningpaw." Otterpelt mumbled "Have you seen Nightpaw? He didn't come back yesterday." "What?" Snowpaw and Morningpaw meowed. "Where did you send him?" Morningpaw asked. "Into the woods behind the twoleg nest." Otterpelt replied. "Well let's check there." Snowpaw mewed.
