Chapter 15: Renewal

Ok folks, last chapter! At the end, I'll share an idea that I've had for a while but I've been unsure about. So I'll ask for your input.

Chapter 15: Collapse of Corruption
(Y/N) POV
Preparations for the attack on Atlantis began immediately. Yami had rallied a fair number of his people to arms and Dad had convinced many members of the Order to join the cause after revealing the deep corruption of the high council. Currently, the members of our army were training together: sparing and uniting against a common foe. I was on the field myself, sparing with my father just as I had many times before. I was training extra hard as I refused to not be a part of taking down those shriveled old men personally. I had a member of the Order and a Sphinx screeching for mercy on the ground.
"Okay! Okay (Y/N) we yield!"
"Please your highness! You are victorious!"
I sheathed my sword and helped both soldiers out of the dust. They bowed in respect and ran off to find opponents more their speed, leaving me alone with Jay.
"We've grown a formidable fighting force, but the Order still has many of its mages on their side. I fear we may not be enough to topple them. We need more recruits," I sent him a glare.
"And where do you suggest we find these recruits?" The feline simply turned his head to my mate, currently beating down a battalion by himself using nothing but his own claws and tail.
"A remarkable warrior that one,"
"Of course he is! He wore me down didn't he?" I joked, mesmerized by Yami strength. He noticed and sent a smirk my way before speeding up his assault. I rolled my eyes.
"Show off," Jay huffed.
"Indeed. I feel if we had someone of similar strength to him, we'd have much better odds,"
"What are yo-?" I cut myself off, remembering he had been watching my whole stay in the castle and realizing just where he was going. My arms crossed and I turned my back on him.
"Nope, sorry, not gonna happen!"
"We need every pair of claws we can get!"
"Yeah, claws that will fight for us, not against us! We cannot trust that psychopath!"
"I feel maybe you can convince him otherwise,"
"The only time I've met that snow haired psycho was when he was trying to rip open my windpipe!"
"I'm aware of this, and you won't be alone: Violet and I will accompany you. And think of Yami, you could restore his relationship with his brother!"
"Bakura won't listen!"
"Like you said, you've only met him once, and you of all people know it takes more than one impression to truly know someone,"
I gripped my hair, realizing that I was loosing an argument to my cat. I angrily sighed.
"First sign of trouble, Violet and I will deal with him and I will shave you when we get back,"
Timeskip
The two dragon knights that had escorted Bakura from the castle after he assaulted me pointed us in the direction of a shady part of the nearby village, unsurprising for a monster like him. I was against this plan from the get go, but Jayfeather was right, we needed more soldiers and Bakura's strength would be invaluable. Violet kept close to me, while Jay seemed unfazed by everything, though guessing a cat's thoughts by his expressions would be challenging for anyone.
"Are we certain this Bakura is still here?" Violet asked.
"If he wants to kill me and Yami, he would stay too far from the castle,"
"I just can't believe Yami has a sibling like this. It's a wonder he didn't grow up bloodthirsty like his father," I flinched at the idea of Yami being anything like that monster. Jay meowed.
"Yami has a strong heart and Bakura, while I cannot excuse his actions, is acting out of pain: rejection from his father, the death of his mother, and the betrayal of his brother. Half brother or not, thinking you were betrayed by one so close to you would be enough to drive any man mad, much less all 3,"
"I'm honored the godly furball sympathizes with me,"a voice hissed. I turned my sword in the direction of the voice where Bakura was rushing from the shadows. My sword managed to stop his claws in the tracks, inches from my head. He smirked.
"You make this all to easy your highness! Now killing you will be all to simple!"
"I didn't come to fight! I came to ask for your help. The Order and the Elvin elders threaten us all!" He growled.
"As if I'd do anything for my treacherous brother!" His claws inched closed to my head, when Violet launched herself and him, checking him to the wall.
"Think you fool! Do you believe my nephew is capable of such dastardly tactics?"
"Look what happen foolish elf!" She proceeded to punch him for that. I cleared my throat to get his attention.
"Yami didn't want the crown. Everything that happen was because of that despicable father of yours! He wanted you both to stand together as brothers, but you attacked him and he was forced to defend himself! Think back to that day! Did Yami truly look satisfied with his victory!?"
Bakura's eyes looked to the ground for a minute, as if he was only now starting to realize his half brother had been so reluctant to fight, but he remained stubborn.
"It doesn't matter," Jay flew up to him and slammed his tail on his head.
"You're right, the kingdom is now in danger and your lives threatened! If you will not fight for your kin, then fight for your people! They have done nothing to earn your scorn! Or are you so spiteful that would stay here like a coward?"
"I am no coward hairball!"
"Then prove it, unwanted one!"
His eyes burned with hatred towards the deity.
"Fine, but I'm only doing this because I just happen to hate those entitled humans more than Yami,"
"Works for me," I said, signaling Violet to back down. For a second the incubus stared at her.
"You're quite the elf, and here I thought you lot were sickly," Violet hissed.
"Watch your tone, you speak to the chief," He smirked and gave a mock bow.
"Forgive me my Lady,"
"Enough of that, we have to prepare,"
Timeskip
Yami POV
We stood at the edge of the portal, my mate, her cat, my father in law, my aunt, and half brother all at my side. When Bakura showed up during training, I was immediately ready to have him arrested, but to my surprise, (Y/N) and Jay, without my consent, decided to recruit the man who nearly ripped her throat with his teeth! Once I calmed down a bit, I saw the benefits of having his strength on our side, but it didn't mean I was going to leave him alone with my family for even a second. Still, training together did bring back memories and we were at least able to not scream at each other now. I turned to the troops.
"This corruption ends today. Are you with me?"
The crowd cheered, raising shields, clubs, swords, staffs, claws, and any weapon they had. I turned to (Y/N), looking for even a hint of doubt. There was none, and she simply nodded, telling me she was with me to the end. I raised my claws to the heavens.
"CHARGE!"
We bolted through the portal and were met with a group of Order soldiers. Going through them wasn't a challenge for me or those at my side. (Y/N)'s magic and natural physical prowess made her a force to be reckoned with, Violet was trained as a warrior all her life, Jay was a deity who could fly and hit a meteor, most the soldier were too scared of (D/N) to even tried, and Bakura was a relentless force like myself. We ran through the underwater city, breaking enemy lines left and right. (Y/N) and (D/N) took the lead and led us straight to the council chambers. Bakura and I decided to gently blast the door to kingdom come. Both councils stood there, cowering behind their warriors. I pointed to them.
"Give up, your soldiers stand no chance of defeating us, most of your best have abandoned you, and you have no where else to run. It is over. Step down, and we won't be forced to hurt you,"
"As if we'd surrender to a dirt blood like you!" An elf screamed.
"If you die here, the monsters and men will scatter and order will be restored," an Order council member reason. Jay purred in response.
"You kill us?" His claws unsheathed. "I'd like to see you try,"
"KILL THEM!" They screamed. The elite guards rushed forward and we advanced as well. They were slightly more difficult than the drones of soldiers outside, but still nothing to worrisome. Just as I bashed two heads together, a growl rose from behind me.
(Y/N) POV
Jay fought closely by my side as bashed the head of one of the Order members. He suddenly hissed.
"(Y/N)! Behind you!"
I turned just in time to get grazed lightly by a spear. I hissed at the pain but I remained standing. Before me was an all to familiar elf, Lily. Her eyes were glazed with hatred and she drew her sword and screamed while charging. I blocked her with my own sword and we circled each other.
"Why are you doing this!? Can't you see the councils are only causing your kind pain!"
"That filthy spawn should have never been born! Why should he enjoy happiness and prosperity while I suffer!? Once you're gone, he won't even try to resist death," I ground my teeth.
"Your still blaming him!? He didn't ask for this! His father is only one responsible, and quiet frankly you for not seeing the amazing son you had!" I charged in and clashed my sword with hers. We matched blow for blow, parry for parry, neither of us surrendering. Eventually, I saw an opening and sliced the side of her arm, making her cry out in pain. Her sword drop and I pointed my sword to her throat.
"You are nothing and have destroyed yourself. Leave and never rear your face again in my presence," I turned my back on her and head back to the fray, only to be alerted by a desperate scream and the uneasy sound of claws slicing flesh. To my surprise, Bakura stood over Lily's body, her throat slashed open and blood pouring from the wound. A sword was clutch firmly in her hand, most likely in a last ditch effort to kill me while my back was turn. Bakura wiped the blood dripping from his claws.
"Fool, even I know when to retreat and plan a new strategy. Considering you sired my brother, I think your death should sate my hatred," I stared at him.
"You...saved me. Why?" He didn't look at me.
"Who knows? I just really despised that elf," I smiled.
"For all the hatred and venom you spit, you still care about your brother," he said nothing and walked to now defenseless council. Yami ran to my side.
"Are you hurt?!"
"No, I'm fine. Bakura protected me from..." Yami looked at the slain body of his mother, his face twisted with uncertainty. Violet knelt by her sister and put a hand on her corpse.
"Sister, it didn't need to end this way. You just needed to let go of your hate," Jay padded to her.
"Grieve Violet, but know that her death will be the last in this terrible war,"I looked pass the cat and saw my father and Bakura leading the council away in chains. I sighed in relief.
"He's right, it's over,"
Epilogue
No POV
"An entire year has passed since the battle for Atlantis. My father and his most loyal warriors now run the Order and an official treaty between Atlantis and the Shadow Realm has been signed, promising the share of knowledge between us. Yugi, Tea, Tristan, and Joey are now official members of the Order, though The are only call in since they're all still in high school. They often come to visit me and Yami and to experience Shadow Realm culture. Violet now leads the elfin people in a time of prosperity with Jay by her side and many new hybrids have been born happy healthy. Surprisingly, a certain brother in law of mine has been very popular among the elf women and Violet fears a whole generation of incubi elf hybrids might be born soon as a result. As of myself, I resign myself to my positions, as queen of the Shadow Realm and as Yami's mate. We visit my world every now and then for dates, and romantic evenings alone, but where ever we are, we know we truly care about each other,"
A tail slyly curled around (Y/N)'s leg as a familiar pair of lips grazed her neck. She turned to find her mate grinning at her.
"What are you writing dear?"
"Oh, just our story. Something the generation after us can learn from," he smirked.
"Yes, how to wear down willful women and to prove your love," she rolled her eyes.
"Yes, by relentlessly chasing them until they finally grow tired of it," they laughed and embraced.
"Your father and friends will be here soon. Ready to share the good news?" He asked while tenderly rubbing her belly, not yet swollen with the child inside.
"With how insatiable you, they knew it was bound to happen," with one last laugh, they kissed passionately. They broke apart and touch foreheads.
"I love you Yami,"
"And I You, my precious Queen,"
And so we come to an end to another story. So, for that new idea I've had, I've decided to move away from the first series for a while and focus more on family that romance. So I'll be making a Child!Sibling! Insert next, and you the readers will decide if I should do it for GX or 5Ds (my personal favorite of the series).
