I opened my eyes and stared at you
You were shining like the morning sun
You kept me wrapped in your arms
Gave me all the warmth in the world
It was worth everything to me
As you rise in the sky
Your warmth grows greater
I can sink further and further into you
The world almost feels safe
You seem to protect me without even trying
But every day must come to an end
No matter where I go
The sun has to set every night
And there is no guarantee I wake up tomorrow
No guarantee I will ever see you again
Even if I do wake up
I don't know if I'll wake up to the same sun
Or if you'll be replaced with someone new again
I swear
I want you here
I want you by my side
But I can't promise anything
I don't know what will happen when the sun sets
I can't promise that you'll be by my side when it rises
I may just lock you out
And draw the blinds shut
So the light can never touch me
I may not feel safe in your warmth tomorrow
I'm sorry
