Bucket List #23 - I've always wanted to have a date at McDonalds. Maybe not a first date but a date. It would be funny in my opinion.
**If anything is in italics it's either met to be stressed or emphasized or it's a flashback or memory**
My phone buzzed in my pocket.
If you're wondering it's been exactly 4 months and 5 days since Alex died. Yes, i've been counting down the days since she died. Since my lovely Alex committed suicide.
I've moved on, yes, but I can never forget her. I can't get her out of my memories, my mind, and especially my heart. I have a girlfriend, Jasmine. She's nice, sweet, but she's nothing compared to Alex. Alex was carefree, wild, but gentle. She would always listen to my rants about my friends and how some of them aren't making the best decisions in life.
Jasmine, on the other hand, seems to be a bit clingy at times. She would call me up at night and ask me where I was. I would simply tell her I was out, taking a walk. She didn't know about Alex, yet. I wanted to tell her, but the time just wasn't right when I wanted to.
Plus, I was afraid she'd dump me after she heard about Alex's death. It seemed like that's what Jasmine would do.
I sighed, taking the phone out of my pocket and looking at the called ID. It was Jasmine. I put the phone up to my ear. "Hello?" I said. I was currently sitting on my couch in my new apartment. "Hey! I was wondering if you wanted to go to dinner tonight? I have something to tell you."
Something to tell me? It's probably about her job. She works as a model. She probably got to be in another magazine. "Yeah, sure." I said, sighing. "I'll text you the details. Sorry for such a late notice!" She said, sounding a bit worried. "It's fine, really." I said, trying to assure her. "Okay, well i'll see you later then."
"Bye."
"Bye."
I got up and went to get dressed.
Maybe I can finally tell her about Alex's death tonight.

Alex had a little black dress on with her nude heels. Her hair was curled to her shoulders and she smiled as Ethan guided her to the car. "You look lovely." He said, opening the car door for her. She stepped in as he closed the door.
Ethan was dressed rather casually. She didn't know what to wear since he didn't tell her the location or any details to where they were going. So, she just assumed it would be fancy seeming as Ethan was always that type of guy to go somewhere fancy.
"So, wanna guess where we're going?" Ethan said, giving her a cheeky smile. Alex shrugged, giving him a confused look as they pulled into a local McDonalds 2 blocks away. He parked the car and laughed as Alex walked out, looking at him.
"McDonalds?" She asked, laughing. He nodded, "Sorry that I didn't warn you. You shouldn't have worn that dress but i'm not complaining." Ethan said, earning a chuckle from Alex. Alex sighed, walking into McDonalds. It was very late so there was only about 3 people there.
"Hi, welcome to McDonalds, how may I help you?" The lady at the register said in a rather bored voice. Alex frowned and Ethan laughed, "Can we get two ice cream cones?" The lady sighed rather loudly, punching a few things into the register.
"That would be $2.50." She said, sighing loudly again. Ethan dugged out of his pocket and placed the exact change on the table. The lady took the money and ushered the couple away. They both laughed as they got their cones and sat at the table.
"This is a nice change.." Alex said, laughing as she licked her ice cream cone. "You have something right here." Ethan said, pointing to his cheek. Alex wiped her cheek, "Is it gone?"
Ethan quickly took his ice cream and dabbed it on her nose. He smiled, "No. Still there." Alex groaned, wiping the ice cream off. "It's rather cold in here, Ethan. Can we go outside?" Alex said, pretending to shiver. Ethan quickly nodded and they went outside to eat their ice cream.
"Is that your favorite shirt?" Alex said. "No, this isn't one of my favorites to be honest."
"Well good." Alex said, dumping the ice cream cone on his shirt. Ethan's eyes widened and he laughed, plucking the now squashed ice cream cone off his shirt. "You're so getting it." Ethan said, holding his cone up.
Alex gasped as Ethan smashed the cone in her hair. She laughed, "Thanks for that. I spent awhile on my hair." Ethan frowned, still laughing a bit.
"I love you.. Ethan." Alex said and Ethan smiled,
"Ditto, Alex, I love you to."

I walked into the restaurant and saw Jasmine in the front. She was in a long sleeved white top with a black polka-dotted skirt. "Ethan!" Jasmine said, smiling. She walked up to me and hugged me. "It's nice to see you, babe." I smiled at her and the waiter quickly took us to our table.
"Welcome to Le' Fromage," The waiter said, setting down our menus, "Your other waiter will be here shortly." We said a quick thank you to the waiter as she walked away, picking up the menus to look at them. "You do know this place means the cheese or something like that, right?" Jasmine said, laughing.
I smiled at her, looking down at the menu. I was probably going to get some kind of steak. Jasmine, on the other hand, would probably get some sort of salad since she doesn't want to 'gain weight' or something like that.
"Look, Ethan, I have something to tell you." Jasmine said. "Me too." I said, sighing. We looked at each other. "You first." Jasmine said. I shook my head, "No, ladies first."
We both sighed so I suggested, "Same time?"
"Okay, on 3."
"1, 2, 3-"
"I'm breaking up with you."
"My girlfriend before you is dead."
We both looked at each other and Jasmine's eyes widened. "O-oh. Look, Ethan, i'm sorry it's just-"
I sighed, shaking my head. "It's okay." I said. Jasmine got up and looked at me. "It wasn't you, Ethan. I just.. it's taken me awhile to figure this out but I think i'm a lesbian."
I looked up at her. A lesbian? No way.
"You a-are?" I said, stuttering over my words. She nodded, "I'm sorry. It's just, it's time that I be true to myself and stay true to who I am, including my sexuality. Goodbye, Ethan."
And with that said, Jasmine left.
Great, just great.
