~ Hannah's POV ~
When we got to his office he had me sit down on a small couch he had. He walked into a separate room which appeared to be his bedroom soon coming back with a small medical kit. From it he took out a weird gel and some gauze."Take off your boot and lift your pant leg to just above your knee." He says pouring some of the gel on his hands.
"What's That Captain? Your hair gel?" I ask trying to lighten the situation, or maybe.. did I want to make him laugh..? 'Maybe I care about him a tiny bit.. but that's okay, I care about a lot of people a little bit. But even then I still make their lives worse..' I think sadly.
"Tch, very funny brat," he replies but I see a very small smile on his face. That made me happy. He then put the gel on my leg.
I gasp "That burns..!" I try not to shout or cry, but tears escape anyway. Crap.. he is going to think I'm weak.. "I'm sorry- you probably think less of me seeing me like this,"I try and smile beneath the pain.
"What..? Why would I? Crying is not an unusual thing," he replies, finishing wrapping my leg in gauze. "Don't be ashamed for feeling emotion. They are natural, but it hurts you more to try and stop them." He kneels next to me and puts a hand on my face, wiping away my tears and looking into my eyes for a moment. I feel my cheeks heat up 'Crap! I'm blushing!' I think in a panic, but I didn't want to look away from him. It was comforting just being here with him, even if we're not saying anything to each other.
"C-captain.. can I ask you something..?" I say slowly, not looking away.
"Tch, you just did but go ahead," he replies as he removes his hand from my face.
"Can I Come in here.. when I want to be alone.. people know where my room is, so they come pick the lock.. but I don't think they will find me here.." I say quietly. He looks shocked for a moment, but answers.
"Fine, but don't bother me if I'm working." He says as he gets up, "I have to go supervise, stay here until I get back." He says as he turns away, before he leaves I grasp his hand, causing him to look back at me.
"Thank you Captain.. it means a lot.." I smile up at him. He really wasn't so bad to be around. He smiles a bit and nods. Suddenly the door bursts open.
"Captain I-!" It was Petra, she was holding a couple cups of tea, and saw me holding Levi's hand. This made her furious. I could tell, but she didn't do anything, "the cadets are finished training, so I brought you some tea, I thought maybe we could share-?" She starts but is cut off by Levi sitting at his desk now.
"Just set them down, I will get to them eventually." He says getting to work, Petra looks upset as she leaves. This makes me worried for my safety. Once she is gone Levi gets up and hands me a cup. "Drink, the warmth will ease the pain and help you rest." He says handing me a cup and drinking from his own, his face looked slightly disgusted. "Never mind.. don't drink it.." he says setting the cup down again.
"Um.. okay.. I place it on the table above my head, and sit there silently for a while. I look over at Levi and the huge stack of paperwork he had to do. Maybe I can-
"Tch, are you just going to keep staring at me?" He asks not looking up.
"O-oh! No sir I was wondering if I could help you.." I say blushing badly, "but I can't promise it will be done perfectly.." I mutter the last bit.
"Whoever said you had to be perfect is an idiot, no one is perfect, that's that," he says getting up and placing a few of the papers next to me, we worked in silence for hours until very late at night. We both finished our work and he sat silently in his chair for a bit, just calming down and breathing. I watch him until I doze off, and finally fall asleep, his calm expression comforted me as I fell asleep.
