~ Hannah's POV ~
I wake up, my head cradled by something warm. Opening my eyes, I see my head on someone's lap, their hand on my head. I look up to see none other than Levi. I bolt upright causing him to look at me from his book."Tch, finally you're up. Erwin told me to tell you that a dance for everyone will be held tomorrow before the expedition in two days." He say going back to his book.
"Dance.. I don't think I'll go.." I mutter pulling my knees into my chest, my leg was feeling much better today.
"That's understandable, but most likely I will be forced to go." He replies a little annoyed at the thought.
"I'm sorry-," I get interrupted by Hanji bursting in.
"Levi! Hannah is missing-! Oh, she's here, anyways, you're coming with me to go dress shopping!" She shouts happily.
"But.. Hanji I don't want to-," I can't finish my sentence.
"All the girl cadets are coming! Petra says she'll pay for it all, she is so sweet! Come on!" She grabs me by my arm and pulls me up.
"Hanji I don't-," I try again.
"It'll be so fun!!!" She shouts pulling me out the door, I look back at Levi, who just sighed as he gets up tying to pull me back, but Hanji slams the door before he can get there.
Time skip
At the dress shop I'm forced to try on dresses Hanji and Petra pick for me. Anytime I see a dress I liked they pulled me away and shoved another into my arms. I hated this. I don't even want to go but I'm to quiet to be heard. Eventually I just pick a black and white lace mermaid dress, (the one shown at the top of the chapter) and black flats.
"Can I just go back to HQ-?" I start.
"Okay everyone I've paid! Let's go get our makeup done and our hair done!" Petra calls to everyone, I run out of the building and just head back to headquarters.
"Hannah Wait! Where are you goin?!" Hanji shouts after me, but I was to far off for her to catch up. Running down an alley I sit, and I simply cry, that's the only way I know how to let out emotion.
"Why am I never heard.. why is everything I say so pointless.. why doesn't anyone ever listen.. am I really so meaningless that no one cares to even hear what I say..?" I whisper to myself until I hear familiar voices. It was Erwin and the boy cadets.
"Erwin, why do we have to do this?" Eren asks.
"Because, I want to give you all something good to remember before a lot of you can possibly die. Now everyone split up to find this suit place," he says as everyone splits up walking down separate alleyways.
"Eren! Look Hannah is here!" Armin shouts concerned after seeing my tears.
"Hannah..? Are you okay?" Eren says gently grabbing my shoulder.
"O-oh yeah I'm f-fine!" I say smiling and wiping away my tears.
"Oh, Okay! As long as you are okay!" He smiles and they walk off. I look after them my smile fading. I put my head on my knees and I stay there for several hours. Listening as people walk by, annoying themselves, their voices and opinions being heard and cared about. They are lucky.
Eventually I hear people calling my name. I never answer. If they don't care what I have to say why should I say anything at all? What does it matter if I'm going to be gone in a few days? If I just disappear during the expedition everyone will accept I'm gone. I'm not something to be dwelled on. I feel more tears stream down my face as my thoughts take over my mind. Eventually I feel someone's arms around me and I'm lifted up, I cover my face. No one should see me like this I place my head on their chest and they start walking.
"You shouldn't be out here this late, someone could have hurt you," the voice was familiar, but so soft.. comforting.. sad. I don't bother to look up, I don't care who it is. I just want someone to care for once.
I just want someone to hear me.
