Umrah
Umrah commonly known as the lesser pilgrimage can be undertaken in any part of the year. There are boundless rewards for making Umrah during the month of Ramadan. Here are some hadith on Umrah during Ramadan:
In a hadith narrated by Ibn 'Abbas: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said to a woman from among the Ansar — Ibn 'Abbas mentioned her name but I forgot it — "What kept you from performing Hajj with us?" She said, "We only have two camels," and the father of her son and her son had gone for Hajj on one camel, and he left the other camel so that they could carry water on it. He said, "When Ramadan comes, go for ‘Umrah, for ‘Umrah in (that month) is equivalent to Hajj."
+In this hadith the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) say’s that Hajj if performed in Ramadan is equivalent to hajj. So if you were unable to perform hajj you can make umrah during Ramadan and that should be sufficient.
I conclude with a hadith narrated by Ibn Umar (RA) said that the Prophet (SAW) said, “The one who fights in the cause of Allah, and the pilgrim(s) performing Hajj and Umrah are a delegation to Allah. He invited them, so they responded to Him, and they ask Him and He gives to them.”
