There's a difference between any girl out there and you. Want to know what it is?

What?

I want you.

I sat in the bed that was practically home to me. The beeping of the machines were the norm for me, and after nurses practically fluttering around me, I got bored and took out my phone, and finally scrolled to that number that I havn't seen in awhile. After a few minutes, I started texting him

Suicide Notes From Beautiful Girls, you really read morbid books. I dig that.

It wasn't a minute later when I got a response

Glad you think my dark mind is attractive, Green Eyes

This made me smile for the first time in the past week, and once again, I felt the strongest urge to see him once more.

Meet me at the park?

His response made me let out a snort, which causes all the nurses to look at me.

You are insane, its POURING.

'Live a little' was the only response I gave him before taking off the breathing mask and setting it down, cutting off my machine and getting up slowly, and with the help of the nurses, got dressed. I could hear my favorite nurse Helen, yell at me about going out considering it was raining, afraid I would get a cold. After grinning, hugging her and reassuring her, I was able to get out of the room and out of the lobby.

-------

I plopped down onto the picnic benches table under the shelter and pulled out my phone as I waiting for him, laying across the cold concrete. I wore my favorite jacket, which was a dark brown hoodie with a bit of camo, though I was obviously no hunter. I hadn't bothered to wear a shirt underneath and just stuck to skinnies. I could feel him approaching after a bit, and glanced over at him, letting out a smile as he laid beside me and got out his own phone to fumble with.

We stayed in a comfortable silence before I turned my head to the sound of his voice, turning my screen off of my phone.

"And why exactly did you call me of all people down here?" He flipped his hair to the side, a faint smile on his lips.

I went to respond as I looked over his face since I got a better view of it, before pausing and frowning.

I could see the slightly cakes and powdered foundation on his face, and his eyebrows were much to prominent to be without makeup. He was to busy on his phone to notice I was staring.

"Why do you wear that?" I muttered, staring at him.

He locked his phone and looked back at me confused by my sudden question.

"What do you mean?"

I sighed and gently slide my thumb over his cheek to see if it would wipe off.

"The makeup," it wiped off and I saw the cutest thing in the world.

His cute little freckles stuck out when the making was removed in just the slightest.

"You have freckles... I can tell. Don't hide them Mr. Blush," I continued to gently rub his cheek with my thumb, removing the makeup every so slowly.

He whispered a okay, he seemed to be thinking before he shook his head slightly and looked back at me once more.

I never removed my hand from his cheek. For once I felt the need to stay for a bit longer.

----

Soon the rain stopped and we started walking down the sidewalk, out steps in pace. Unknown to him, I was marching as I did when I was in ROTC, my most favorite class that I sadly couldn't attend anymore due to my health. We laughed as we talked, talking about everything under the sun, and in that small time I had gotten nicknames for him.

I told him I just moved down here, and well, I did. I apologized for being gone for so long, and since I didn't feel like lying to him like I did everyone else, I said I was gone for so long due to person issues. He didn't push the topic luckily.

Soon we were in a store going straight down a candy isle. I told him my allergies; Chocolate and Cherries. He told me how he cant eat ice cream without gummy bears and that he hates them both unless it was mint chocolate; And I listened.

I was mesmerized by everything he told me, he seemed so surreal. I couldn't get enough of the boy. So I continued to listen. When we got to the cash register, he got the biggest Slim Jim and a Mango Snapple, and I just grinned, because someone was for once not afraid to eat in front of me. Most would be, but was he? Of course not. Because he was surreal

As we were walking to the park, it started pouring again and he let out a big laugh, grinning as he seemed to love it. He loved it, and I kinda did too. I just knew the after effects would keep me from him for a good month again. I grabbed his cold hand and ran with him into the shelter, us both laughing at the top of our lungs.

I finally had a friend.
