She's broken because she believed
Draco
The boy paced back and forth, his eyes closed tightly. The date was drawing closer and he was nowhere close to fixing the cabinet. He opened his eyes and glowered at the cabinet, his lip curling. Stupid! Why had he let Potter girl distract him? Why was he letting Blaise distract him? He'd been so focused on his friendship with Beth and trying to avoid confrontation from his peers that he'd all but forgotten about his true mission. And the bet he'd been thrown into concerning Beth had him more stressed than he needed. All he could think of was Elizabeth and what would happen when she found out. He would lose her for sure. She was on his mind constantly and he couldn't get her out of his head. He'd always found the Potter girl attractive; her brown skin always looked so soft. He knew how soft it was; how many times had he held her? He loved the way she held herself, even though Harry was always in the light and she was in his shadow. She looked like a fucking goddess and the way she looked at him drove him nuts. She was a goddess that could be his if he just let her. He knew her feelings and he knew where she stood on their relationship. But he was scared. If his parents found out he fancied a Potter... if his aunt found out... he felt shivers ripple down his spine. He wished that the Dark Lord had never existed and that he could be open about his feelings for Elizabeth.
Blaise's bet loomed over his head every time he was around her. Half the Slytherin house was in on it; including Kat herself. He was counting on Beth's old friend to tell the girl what was happening and why Draco had started noticing Beth in the first place so he wouldn't have to worry about telling Beth. But the girl was forced to stay quiet because of Blaise's threats against anyone who attempted to tell Beth what the truth was. But if Beth found out... he would lose her forever.
He glanced down at his watch and squeezed his eyes shut, shaking those thoughts off. He shouldn't be tutoring Elizabeth because he should be focusing on fixing the damn cabinet. The answer was right there, he could sense it, but he couldn't think of it. He groaned in frustration and knocked a lamp off one of the tables, sending it tumbling into another pile of junk. A few things fell but it stayed in place. He threw the sheet over of the cabinet and walked out of the door. He looked around, making sure there was no students around, before he paced outside again. I need a place to teach in secret. I need a place to teach in secret. I need a place to teach in secret.
When Draco opened his eyes, a new door was in front of him. He smiled and reached to open the door but a noise distracted him. Footsteps echoed around him and he turned to glimpse Beth as she appeared, slightly pink. Spotting him, she smiled and waved. He felt his chest grow warm and smiled back at her. He looked at her hands and saw her fingers tightly gripping a Potions book. "Good! There's a chance you won't fail." He called, teasing her.
Elizabeth rolled her eyes at his comment as she drew nearer. Her green eyes were bright and her black hair was hanging around her shoulders. Her strawberry scent flooded his senses and he breathed in deeply, feeling himself relax. It was also another reason why he kept her around; she cleared his head and allowed him to think clearly. At times. "So Draco. What do you want me to brew?" Elizabeth asked cheekily as she reached behind him and opened the door. Her close proximity caused his thoughts to scramble and he tried to remember what he'd been thinking about.
"Uh. It's a surprise." He replied quickly, resting his hand on her shoulder. He felt awful for what he planned to do but his reputation was on the line. She felt so frail, like a porcelain doll. Fragile and pretty. He noticed how she didn't flinch when his hand touched her, but seemed to relax. Maybe she felt the same relaxing sensation whenever he was around her. He hoped so.
