Trust takes years to build, seconds to break and forever to repair

As February moved to March, Beth knew how wrong it was for her to be meeting up with Draco again; she was even more confused about her mental stability. Draco seemed to be working on his insecurity about not being accepted; they both knew that the moment he came out to his parents about his relationship with her, they'd probably reject him. And as if it wasn't bad enough about them, they had to deal with the fact that Draco was, in fact, a death eater. There were so many complications when it came to them, Beth wasn't sure what she'd gotten herself into.

On top of the immense guilt she felt around her friends, she also had to deal with the fact that George was still chasing after her. She was too chicken to tell him that she was in love with Draco. She felt guilty over the fact that she was leading him on but she just wasn't sure about what to do. If she would've been able to confide in her friends, she would've felt a lot more better. But she knew where they stood when it came to Draco and she knew that they would be no help to her.

Seamus was also another big issue; she'd felt something for him but she wasn't sure if it would be lasting. She couldn't see herself with Seamus in the future; it had been a crush but nothing more. Although she knew he wanted more from her; more than what she could give. Why did she have to have boy drama of all the things?

Since a Quidditch game was coming up, Harry had the team practice extra hard. Katie hadn't gotten out of St. Mungo's.  Ron was furious when their trip to Hogsmeade was canceled but she was glad; she didn't want to have to act like she didn't care around Draco. She was more wary around her friends, not wanting them to see her lingering glances towards the Slytherin table. Her grades were better than they had been all year and she was glad that she might actually have a chance at being an auror. Their instructor, Wilkie Twycross and his D's, had finally gotten to everyone's nerves and he received a number of nicknames, the nicest of which were Dogbreath and Dunghead. Her favorite was dickfuck. Kudos to Kat for the name.

On the first of March, Beth woke up to Kat shaking her. Beth cracked an eye open, mumbled a rude comment and rolled over. "Wake up, wake up! Let's go to Hogsmeade!" Kat yelled, jumping on top of her. Beth struggled to breathe, shoving her friend off.

"Katherine, I'm trying to get a decent amount of sleep." Beth grumbled and Maggie popped over, grinning widely.

"Please? Please please please please?" Maggie begged. "Seamus wants to go too." She added, smirking slightly.

Beth felt her stomach drop and she groaned, throwing herself back. What had she gotten herself into?

Beth's eyes were narrowed to slits and she was counting to ten. Her temper was being tested and she was certain she was going to fail."Tricky conditions!" McLaggen was saying, "Croote, Peakes, you'll want to fly out of the sun so they don't see you coming-"

The girl felt her brother's anger and turned her head just as Harry stomped up. "I'm the captain, McLaggen, shut up giving them instructions," he snapped, glaring, "Just get up by the goal posts!"

Beth grinned smugly at McLaggen as he marched away, looking offended. She was glad that her brother had showed up when he had; her fist had been close to saying hi to his face. Harry turned to their beaters but Beth kicked off into the air and waited, her eyes slitted as she calculated how good the other team was. Harry shook hands with the Hufflepuff Captain, giving him a curt nod. When the whistle went off, Beth was already there, her hands on the Quaffle. She felt Ginny and Dean beside her and she tossed the Quaffle back, pulling up just as two of the Hufflepuff Chasers ran into each other.

Ginny streaked past her, weaving in a twist with Dean to confuse the enemy Chasers. She spotted Smith and remembered how he made fun of Gryffindor at their last match. Her jaw locked and she leaned forward, feeling her broom hum with power. She ran straight into him, making him spin away. She waited for the whistle to announce a foul on her but there came a large roar from the crowd. She smirked and tagged behind Dean. He threw the ball up and it was supposed to be Ginny's shot but her friend was a second late. Not wanting their team to be down, Beth whipped her broom around, taking a sharp turn, and the back of her broom hit the Quaffle, sending it through the hoop.
