Chapter five
As I walked towards Danny, I kept scolding myself on how stupid I was. I knew I shouldn't have taken the tour. I was bad with people. I was terrible with people.
Great, I thought.
How many enemies more could I make in an hour? I rolled my eyes. Maybe 10. I don't know.
"Hi!" Danny said and waved as soon as she saw me. She turned her back to the person she was talking to and faced me. "I see you've met Jilva already." She nodded, gesturing to a girl a few meters away behind me. I stopped right infront of her and shrugged.
"She's not very nice." She winked and laughed.
"I can tell." I smiled at her.
She nodded again and fell silent. "Oh!" She chuckled and grabbed the shoulders of a boy, placing him beside Danny. The boy looks like he was in his 20's. His black hair was heavily gelled and his eyes were enclosed in thick black frames. "This is Fuoy." He didn't smile, or laugh. He didn't even acknowledge me or whatsoever. "He lives here. He has been around for years." She patted him in the back. He didn't budge.
Is he a walking zombie? I don't even know if zombies exist. Not wanting him to be another one of my enemies, I extended my hand and placed a big smile on my face.
"Hello Fuoy, I'm Anastasia." He stayed motionless for a minute. He didn't shake my hand. Instead, he bowed and took my hand. He raised it to his lips and smiled at me.
"Nice to meet you, Anastasia." He said and looked at Danny. "She's pretty." He commented. I blushed.
"Thank you." I replied, almost too quiet.
"You're always welcome." He nodded and faced Danny and I. "I'm sorry ladies, but I'm afraid I have things to do. Goodbye, for now." He bowed one last time and slowly disappeared from our view.
I was mute for a few moments. I glanced at Danny and she was grinning at me like crazy.
"What?" I asked. She shook her head, still smiling like an idiot.
"You look..." She trailed off. "Flushed." She smiled an I-know-everything-about-you smile. Honestly, it was beyond creepy.
"Shut up, I'm not." I playfully pushed her arm.
"Whatever." She rolled her eyes. "Fuoy doesn't know what modern world means." She chuckled. "He still has his old ways, and from what I know, he has no plans of changing it."
"He's a gentleman." I shrugged.
"True." Danny nodded. "He's very weird too. I think he's about three hundred years old by now." I almost choked on my own spit.
"What?!" I shrieked flipping my hands around in the air.
"That's young for a vampire, you know." She pointed a finger at me. "Don't even get me started with Maushu's age." She laughed, clutching her stomach.
"How old is Maushu?" I asked.
"A thousand or two." She smiled as she crossed her arms. My eyes were growing into the size of a tennis ball.
"What the bloody hell." I whispered, still captivated by a heavy amount of shock. "How old are you?" I said, narrowing my eyes at her.
"I've not reached a hundred yet." She said as I nodded numbly. How old was I going to get? A thousand? A million? A zillion?
"Can vampires die if I stab them with a wooden stick, right into their hearts? Or if I poke them with holy symbols?"
"No, silly." Danny shook her head and laughed at me. "Don't believe the rumors. We are not under the possession of Satan. He doesn't rule us. We have our own 'ruler'. Vampires are immortal and strong but we have our weaknesses. We can die, I assure you that. But it's not easy."
