"THIS CHAPTER IS DEDICATED TO MY MOMMY, IT IS HER BIRTHDAY TODAAYYY! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMY, I LOVE YOU."
Chapter nine
"How did you-" Danny gawked at me as she turned her head. "You were just.." Danny pointed my previous spot.
I pursed my lips, thinking of an explanation. What will I say if she asks what happened?
"Anastasia, what happened?"
Shitballs.
"Uh.." I cleared my throat gauchely. "Because," I said, the word slowly vanishing into the air. I felt the clock ticking in my chest. I can hear the gears grinding.
She's waiting for an answer.
I laughed, but its fake. I scratched my head as I looked around, desperately searching for answers. "Vampire speed, I guess." I shrugged as my tone got higher.
"Vampire speed? How come? You're a newbie." She said, her voice fading.
I shrugged again. "I am a newbie, that's why I don't know how and why either." She frowned, and then nodded, considering this for a moment.
Yep. Everybody blames it on vampire speed.
"Help." We glanced down and sure enough, a person was there.
I felt rage and anger fill me up. I said the first thing that came into my mind, "You pushed me."
Danny bent down and helped him up. His shirt caught some twigs. He brushed it off with his right hand as he stood up and fixed his hair.
"Yeah." He said. "I did, didn't I?" He kept on stroking his hair, trying to tame it. I noticed his massive height. He was slouching but he still towered over me. His eye sockets were deep, giving a hollow feel in his eyes. His nose wasn't exactly thin and pointy, nor was it bulging and flat. His cheek bones were so sharp, his eyebrows were darker than his hair. His skin was pale and almost white.
When he didn't say anyting else, I glared at him.
"What?" He asked as soon as he noticed my angry stare. His black hair bounced back.
I exhaled crossly and fixed him with the best annoyed expression I could make. "Don't you know how to say sorry?"
He stared at me blankly, then he scratched his chin and pretended to think. "You know what, I do not know how to say that word." He feign puzzlement for a moment. "In fact, I cannot."
I smiled at him bitterly. "Did your ego come out from your ass?" I asked as if we were in a normal quotidian conversation.
Without missing a beat, he replied. "No. It came out from yours." He immitated my smile, which made me even more irritated. Suddenly, we heard Danny snickering. I gave her a questioning look.
Danny stopped and giggled one last time before saying, "Do you even know each other?"
He eyed me, up and down. "Of course not. Who would want to know this loser?" And then he rolled his eyes, looking blazé.
My mouth dropped involuntarily. I must say, he is quite rude. "And who would even want to look at someone like you? You're uglier than your ass."
Danny waved her arms. "Stop this hullabaloo. Your conversation is full of nonsense." Danny shook her head. "You've already insulted one another, and yet, you still don't know each other's names."
"Well, he didn't say sorry." I muttered, convincing myself that my side has a point bigger than the guy's.
"It wasn't my fault! I told her to get out of my way. And why does it matter? You didn't fall, I did. I even scraped my knee." I frowned and felt sorry for him for a second. I looked down at his jeans, I saw nothing. And then I heard laughter.
