Chapter seven

"So, where to?" I took a side glance at Danny. "Your favorite place right?"

"Mm-hmm." She said with a nod.

"Where is that exactly?" Now I know that she isn't going to answer where. But it never hurt to ask.

"For the last time, I am not going tell you." Danny sighed dramatically and grinned.

"Fine." I said with a huff. I frowned as I remembered something. "Hey, where's Calden?"

"Somewhere. He's probably in the cabins, talking to girls."

I cleared my throat and thought of an appropriate reply. "That's... That's cool."

"Nope."

"Yeah."

We laughed for a good five minutes.

"Is he really like that?"

"Like what?" She asked back.

"A playboy." Danny shrugged.

"I don't know, but I guess yeah." She said.

"Bummer." She shrugged again.

We walked and walked. After that, we walked some more. Then we walked again. Followed by more walks.

"Are we there yet?"

"We're near."

I kept quiet and sighed. "Are we there yet?"

"Shhh. I said we're near."

I frowned and felt my body ache once more. "Are we-"

"We're here."

Finally.

We stood infront of a huge horizontal building that almost has no windows. The color was a brilliant shade of dark blue, outlined with the color of asphalt. The roof was flat. Although the building was landscape, the ceiling was high. It could hold 6 or 8 persons standing on top of one another.

There were stairs leading to the front door. It wasn't exactly a door. More of a gate really. I'm guessing the door was made of metal. It was the color of dark grey that had carvings on it that were too far for me to see it clearly. It had handles that were made of silver that glinted even in the day.

"What is this place?" I asked. The edifice had no name or symbol on it.

"My favorite place." She had a vainglorious smile on her face. She almost looked proud. "It's the training hall."

"Training what?"

"Training hall. You know, where we train and stuff." Danny raised a prying eyebrow.

"Train for what?"

"War." She said.

"War?"

"Yes, war. We occassionally have wars with other vampires who want to take over Tailsburg. And by occassionally, I mean every five decades or more."

"What?"

"You ask a lot of questions." She laughed. "Let's just go." She started to walk towards the stairs. I stayed for a while and gazed at the majestic structure before me. Am I going to train? Is everybody training everybody? I shook my head and watched the sunset behind the building.

And then I followed.
