Love Project

Chapter 1:

~Tomika's P.O.V~

Ugh, it's Monday. It's our first day back from winter break and I'm so excited to see my friends again. Not that we didn't hang out over break but I want to see them at school and rock with them in the band.

This morning, unlike others, I decided not to curl my hair and leave it straight. It's nice to have a change once in a while. Plus, no one has ever seen me with straight hair. It will be a surprise for everyone.

I wore the stupid uniform we have to wear and grabbed my backpack and skateboard. I headed downstairs to grab some breakfast and head out the door. My mom was up early as usual but didn't notice me dash out the door.

I arrived at school and met Summer at the entrance.

"Hey, Sum." I greeted her. She was lost in a trance and didn't hear me. I followed her eyes right to Freddy. I thought she was over him! He was doing some lame trick on his skateboard to impress the ladies. I snapped her back to reality.

"SUMMER!" I yelled in her ear and she shrieked. "I'm listening! I'm listening!" She calmed me down.

"You weren't listening before," I smirked. "Anyway, it's nice to see you again!" I said and she gave me a hug. Even though we often hung out over break, it's nice to see her at school again.

"I missed you, Tomiks! Still crushing on Zack?" She smirked. My face turned red. I don't remember telling her about my crush on Zack but I guess she figured it out.

"Uh-Uh, I don't know what you're talking about, Sum." I stuttered.

"Oh come, its written all over your face Tomiks." She said like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"It can't possibly be that obvious," I said nonchalantly. Until I realized what I had just said. I practically just admitted to Summer that I like Zack. Mental facepalm.

"It is- wait a minute!" Summer whisper-shouted and I buried my flustered face in my hands. "So it is true! You like Zack!" She teased.

I playfully pushed her and the bell rang to go to class. We walked into Mr. Finns class and he was late as usual. We took our usual seats and had side conversations.

"Hey guys, I bet Mr. Finn will come in at 9:45." Freddy challenged us.

"Nu-uh, He will definitely come in at 10:59. One minute before class is over." I said. That was a huge possibility. It has happened a lot. Mr. Finn walks in and says Hello Class and the bell immediately rings.

"Guys don't bet on Mr. Finn like that." Summer said.

"I bet he walks in at exactly 10," Zack said. It was currently 9:10. A while later, Mr. Finn walks in at 9:38.

"I knew it!" I yelled.

"No, you didn't! It's 9:38. You guessed 9:45." Zack complained.

"I was the closest. Pay up, boys!" I said and Zack handed me a ten dollar bill and so did Freddy. Twenty bucks in a day. I'm getting good at this guessing game.

"You guys are betting on me again. I should come in extra early so none of you win." He said. The class burst out laughing like that was the most hilarious thing we ever heard. "You're so silly, Mr. Finn. We all that know will never happen." Lawrence said as he laughed. Mr. Finn faked a smile.

"Anyway, welcome back! Hope you all had a great winter break. I have decided to give you all a welcome back project." He said and the class groaned. "Don't worry. It involved Rock n' Roll!" He said as he did an air guitar. "More smooth jazz. Or a combination of both. I don't care you guys will choose your song genre." He said and now we are all curious about what the project is.
