Two Years Earlier
Beep Beep Beep ...
"Nova turn that fucking alarm off." My cousin Justice yelled pushing me off my bed.
"Why you always putting ya hands on me?" I yelled throwing my pillows at her.
"Cause I can. Now get up. It's the first day of school."
First day of my junior year. I can't wait to be done here.
"Come on your my ride."
"Ya ride ? Bitch juniors and senior go in at 10 fuck out my face."
Justice was a freshman for the second time. Wasn't the brightest star in the sky if you know what I'm saying.
"So what I'm supposed to do?" She whined pouting her face.
"Ask Ant to take you. Hurry before he leave." Ant was my neighbor. And my brother on my dad side. We ain't real close like that tho. Real sweet kid.
"Anthony! Open yo window!" Jus screamed out he window.
"Trick what?" Did I say he was sweet. I lied he was a dick.
"I need a ride to school."
"What you gonna give me?"
"What do you want?"
"You know what I want Justice stop playing." I could hear the smirk on his face.
She groaned. "Fine I'll suck your dick."
"Justice really?! That's me brother. " I asked her. She nodded at me.
"Bet be ready in 5." Ant yelled back.
"You really gonna suck him off?"
"Yup." She said popping the p. "He got a big dick. Hopefully he could give me some back shots." She smiled.
"Your nasty. That's my brother. And you lucky my mama not here or...." she cut me off.
"We both know she don't care what I do as along as my mom sends a check."
Justice mom is a marine. We haven't seen her in 2 years but she calls when she can.
"How do you feel?"
"What are yo talking about?"
"How do you feel being home from juvie?"
I sighed."It's like I've never left."
"Anyway I got to go suck your half brother's dick bye." She winked at me. I laughed rolling over in my bed looking at the clock.
"6 fucking 45!!" I yelled.
I tried to go back to sleep but nothing happened.
I walked into the kitchen t make a bowl of cereal and see my mother's boyfriend laying on the couch.
"You still here?" I asked pouting my milk.
"Why you always gotta start with me Nova?" He joked.
Trey was a cool dude. He's an EMT and works mostly nights. I glad he's around and actually cared for us. He wasn't like my dad but like a uncle. He was the only person to visit me when I was away. We talked bout our plans for the day and what it wold be like for me to be returning to school after the accident, when the news caught my attention.
"A North Richmond street gang was behind a violent East Bay crime spree last week that included the killings of three people and the shooting of a school board member and pistol-whipping of her husband as they were robbed in their driveway. The gang - which authorities said they have dismantled - has been linked to the three homicides, 14 attempted murders, two carjackings, six armed robberies and four home invasion. Police said they have arrested seven members of the gang.
Alex Pena, Dante Reynolds , Marcus Clark..."
After hearing that name everything went silent. Marcus is my older brother. He just got out last year right when I was going away. He is the worse kind of person.
"Ya brother wildin b."
"I know. But that's no longer my problem. I got to worry bout me now" I said dumping my bowl in the sink walking back up stairs to get dressed.
It's fucking hot outside decided to wear a black crop top and black spandex shorts. I did my hygiene and fixed my hair before leaving.
"You know ya mom is gonna flip bout your brother. Do that whole disappearing act." Trey said while I was leaving.
I shrugged my shoulders. "I don't know why she already know who her son is. And let's not pretend we don't know where she disappears to." With that I left walking to my car. My mother is "recovering"crack addicted. And I use the word recovery very lightly. With Marcus being one of the biggest drug dealers in Central Richmond he had brought me the lasted BMW. He wanted to buy something for my troubles. My baby was all black inside and out.
"Morning Mama Jill." I wave to Ant's grandma.
"Keep ya fast ass cousin away from my grand baby." She said with all seriousness making me laugh.
"You know she wild."
"Yeah I know. Go on to school." I nodded driving off. I guessing she ain't .She the news this morning. The school board member that was killed is her best friends husband. She not gonna like me at all when she finds out. Especially cause my brother was there. Or maybe she already knows but is just pitying me.
"Hey Nova!" My neighbor Joy yelled. "Glad to see you home."
"Glad to be home."
