Romeo POV
"What the fuck!" I screamed. Throwing the liquor off the table. "Why the fuck is my money short!?"
"I don't know boss. When I counted... it was perfect." Luis said.
"Perfect? Are you ducking stupid?" I said sniffing some of the leftover product. I've been doing that a lot lately ever since Nova left me 5 months ago.
"Find my fucking money."
"Yes boss."
My life has gone to complete shit. My dad is on my case since I got a DUI. After everything went downhill I've been drinking smoking and sniffing. I tried to stop but all the pain came back and I couldn't deal with it. I found my self crying more then I ever had.
Getting in the car I drive to my house. At first it seemed like a long drive when I had someone to go home to.
"Hey baby." Lea one of the girls I slept with said hugging me. She was a nice bed warm and did what I said. But she isn't like Nova ...
Man fuck her. She left me and killed my baby. I bet if I got Lea pregnant she would keep it.
"You got a phone call today. Something bout your dad coming by later."
Shit. I swear I wish his ass would stay in Cuba. He keeps fucking up my vibe. Everything is always you fucking up or have you lost your fucking mind. Keeps telling me I'm putting the business in jeopardy. All while he's playing father to James.
"Babe you look angry."
"Im good poor me a drink." Doing as told she poured me some Hennessy. Right when I was bout to drink it Bang. A bullet went threw my glass. Lea screamed dunking while I slowly turned around. Only to see dad.
"Juro que debería haber salido. Eres una maldita decepción." (I swear i should have pulled out. You are a damn disappointment.)
"Papá no empieces. No quiero escuchar tu mierda." (Dad dont start. I don't wanna hear your bullshit). I sighed. I had this headache that won't go away. My body is slammed against the corner and everything goes dark as my body begins to shake.
Nova POV
"I really don't have to buy anything... Your uncle is buying shit for Kory every week." I said into the phone talking to James. We were on face as I laid on my bed.
"I glad you like the name. Baby boy is already spoiled."
"We don't know if it's a boy yet. I don't wanna know."
"Why?"
"It just feels wrong sometimes." The phone was silent.
"What if I went with you?"
"How? You're in Cuba."
"So it's called a plane. I can be there in two days... If you want." James said shyly. He was never shy.
"I would like that. Where are you at?"
"The beach waiting for someone."
"Oh you have a date. I should hang up."
"Wait!" He yelled stopping me. "No date it's just my mama. She missed me and wants quality time."
"You get along with your mother?"
He nodded. "My parents were married. When my dad died she was all I had." I swear James is like this light in a dark place.
"That's good. Does she know bout your lifestyle?"
"Yes and even though she doesn't agree. She understands why I'm doing it."
"I want to meet her. She sounds like the angel in your life."
"Tu eres el angel de mi vida" (You are the angel of my life). He said with the sparkle in his eyes.
"Huh?"
"Nothing Nova. You should get ready for you afternoon class I'll talk to you later."
"I need to learn Spanish... Talk to you tonight." I said hanging up.
Walking down the steps I see Tally looking at me.
"What?"
"You know I always thought James was cuter than Romeo."
"No. I know where this is going." I said walking out the living to the kitchen.
"You guys talk everyday and.."
"Tally drop it. Imma be late to class." Grabbing my keys I leave. Nothing can happen between me and James. Can it?
James POV
What am I doing? What the fuck am I doing. Romeo is my brother and Nova is his girl. But these feelings I'm feeling for her... Makes me wish she was my girl. Ughhhh. I'm a shitty best friend. I leave him alone in Miami and flirt with his girl.
"My son ¿algo en tu mente?" (something on your mind?)My mother asked.
"Si mamá. Me siento así por una chica."(Yes mom. I feel this way about a girl.
) I answered.
"¿Entonces, cuál es el problema? Eres muy guapo." (So whats the problem? You are verg handsome.)She said rubbing her hands down my face.
"Ella es la ex novia de Romeo. Él la ama."(She is Romeo's ex girlfriend. He loves her.)
"¿Y que hay de ti?"(And what about you?)
"Todavía no lo sé ... Solo que cuando la veo o hablo con ella."(I do not know yet...Just that when I see or talk to her.) I sighed.
She nodded her head. "Bebé. No puedes ayudar a quien te caes. Solo asegúrate de no terminar lastimado."(Baby. You can not help who you fall for. Just make sure you do not end up hurt.)
My mother is right. I can't play this game cause I'm the end Nova will choose Romeo.
