Chapter 2

Astrid Pov

It was nearly noon I went outside to give Stormfly her lunch and I was just thinking about Hiccup and how I kissed him three years ago then I sighed when I remembered what my father had told me that night *Flashback* "Astrid I need to speak with you" He said in a stern voice. "Yes father?" I said in a worried voice. "The Hoffersons and the Haddocks have had many arguments between the families and that's why I forbid you to be with a Haddock" He said and I felt tears form in my eyes "But father!" I screamed he turned around and had an angry expression on his face "That's the end of this discussion Astrid!" He told me and I ran up to my room and cried *End of Flashback* I shook the memory off and I got on stormfly and went for a ride trying to forget about him but I knew that wouldn't happen. We flew over the cove and I saw Hiccup and I smiled thinking 'He is so perfect.. Ugg stop thinking that way astrid!' I signed but then I saw a typhoomarang heading towards him and it looked mad so I flew down to him "Hiccup wake up!" I yelled jumping off stormfly trying to wake him up. He jumped and so did toothless, "Huh what? Astrid?" He said rubbing his eyes. "Yes its me astrid hurry up an angry typhoomarang is headed this way and we don't wanna be here when it does" I said and he jumped up and got on toothless and I got on stormfly and we flew where it couldn't get to us. I sighed in relief then smiled "Thanks Astrid" he said "No problem Hiccup" I smiled but tryed not to show that I liked him but It was probably obvious right now. "So what are you uh doing today?" Hiccup asked me "Oh I was just riding stormfly for a bit thinking about things" I said and patted stormfly and she gave a rawrk. "Well me and toothless were just hanging out also uh do you want to have a race around the island?" He asked and he knew that I never could say no to a challange. I give a little smirk "Of course but you do know your going to lose" I laugh and fly off and he starts after me "I don't think so!" He yells and catches up to me. We race around the island neck and neck then when we got close to to the village we saw our dads fighting again.. We looked at each other and we nodded in agreement as we were thinking the same thing is to cancel the race and land in different parts of the village we both went up to our dads. "umm dad whats going on here? I could hear you from miles away" I asked my dad "This Haddock here is not being fair at anything!" I roll my eyes. "Father what is it about now" Hiccup asks his dad "This Hofferson here says Im not being fair because I said a chicken is a fair trade for a sheep" Hiccups dad said to him and I saw hiccup facepalm and I laughed but to myself so I didn't get in trouble. "Dad that is actually a fair trade" I said and it evidently made him mad "Astrid! I don't want your opinion, so don't try and stick up for any Haddocks! Now go to your room!" He yelled at me and I ran home I swear I heard hiccup gasp when I left. I went to my room and sat there looking out the window with a tear rolling down my cheek then I saw hiccup and toothless at my window I gasped and jumped back then I opened the window "What are you doing Hiccup your gonna get killed if my father or your father see's you near our house you know our families have this big thing against each other" I said to him "I know I just wanted to make sure you were okay that's all I should go now before I get in trouble" Hiccup said and he flew away I smiled and went to my bed and pulled my diary out that I had been writing in for three years.                                                          'Dear Diary, Today I raced Hiccup around the Island then I tried to help my dad with an argument but he yelled at me and sent me to my room, Hiccup stopped by outside to make sure I was okay since I was crying, I was happy that he actually cared ~Astrid Hofferson'
