Chapter 5

Hiccup Pov

I was walking through town thinking about how I turned 20 a couple months ago and Astrid didn't get to come. I sigh because I wanted to at least tell her happy birthday today but it might not happen. I kick a few rocks out of the way and walked in the forest thinking then I hear something and hide behind a tree just in case. I hear a girl talking to someone and I peak from behind the tree. Her back was facing me I squint looking at her hair I swear it looks familiar. I realize who it was "Astrid?" I said surprised and she turns around 'Wow' I mouthed when I saw her new look. I didn't think it was possible but she looks even more beautiful than before. "Hiccup?" she asked then I remembered I changed my look also since it was viking tradition. I now had a black with some red armor on my chest tan pants and a new boot and metal foot. It had lots of secret storage compartments on the arms and down the side of my pants. "What are you doing out here?" I asked her "I was just taking a break with Stormfly from flying since there is nothing else to really do" she told me. "Well what do you want to do?" I asked her and she smiled "We can go dragon racing down the hill, that's always fun" she says "Okay then lets get going!" I say and hop on toothless and she gets on stormfly. We both flew to the top of the mountain covered with snow. "You know your going to lose" she says looking at me and I smiled that's the astrid I remember always competitive. "We will see about that" I say back. "Ready..Set..Go!" she yells and we both taking off down the hill. She races in front of me and then turns her head to look at me "Looks like I'm winning!" she yells and I smile "Not if I have anything to say about it!" I say and try to go faster. "Oh yeah?" she says and stormfly shoots spikes in front of us I dodge them quickly "Hey! That's cheating!" I yell and try to catch up to them she raises her arms up some and looks around "Who's cheating?" she laughs. "You! You are cheating!" I roll my eyes and then toothless goes faster. I look up to see her turning around and her face looks shocked "Hiccup!" she yells and points behind me. I turn around and look behind me to see an avalanche headed towards us super fast and then I turn around fixing to have toothless fly up but we both fell in a hole and it covers up with layers of super thick ice that the dragons cant fire through. "Well.. I guess I can cross getting caught in an avalanche off my bucket list" I chuckle in attempt to lighten the mood. She laughs slightly "I-I'm cold" she says shivering but its dark I can't see where she is at. "Yeah. m-me too" I say starting to shiver man was it cold in here. "What are we going to do? Th dragons can't get us out of here til morning when the sun helps melt the ice?" she says to me "I don't know I sure don't want to die of hypothermia we need to find a way to keep warm." I say holding my hands together "Y-yeah we do" she said "Maybe toothless could make a fire? wait no the snow is to wet, gah I can't even think strait!" I say aggravated "M-e to im so c-cold I cant think" she says weakly and I can tell she is getting very cold. I hear the dragons talking to each other in dragon and then next thing I know toothless pushed me towards astrid and stormfly did the same to her.
