It's finally homecoming week. Our theme this year was based on Hollywood, so each day had to be related to that theme in some way. Our Student Council team voted on these days. It was kind of hard since it was a large group and everyone had different ideas. However, majority vote always won. I really didn't care too much for it, since the main day was always the most important. I was just ready for game day to be here already. I loved getting dolled up and going to the pep rally! Plus, I planned to cheer after half time and then meet my date for the dance.
Throughout the week everybody was pretty turnt, since we could dress up and pretty much act like a fool in honor of this week's theme.
The only bad thing was one of the new administrators and the new school officers. It's like they hated the idea of fun and they always took their titles a little too serious. I kid you not!
For instance :
One day I was sitting in the classroom on a normal day fooling around with Michael and he showed me some messages on his phone that James flexing behind wanted me to see. James was telling Michael that it was a girl in the class that he couldn't keep his eyes off of and he loved the way she looked. Michael asked him who and of course it was my name he typed. *rolls eyes* That threw me off so bad and Michael just laughed.
The teacher didn't mind phones being out, but our new assistant principal walked in and saw the phone. We put them up quickly, but he walked towards us with a huge packet and pen and he just stared us down. He looked at Michael's paper to figure out what his name was and then he looked at the packet he had and used his pen to search for Michael's name, but he didn't find it. Then he walked over to me, looked at my name , and then looked through the packet to find my name. He didn't find my name either.
I glimpsed at the paper and saw a couple names of kids that have been sent to In School Suspension (ISS) or who have been sent to alternative school, so basically this was a bad behavior packet. Next thing I know , the assistant principal whispered in my ear and said, "I will not tolerate cell phones in class. If I see it again, I'm going to send you to tribunal." I simply said, "Ok!"
When he left, Michael and I laughed so hard. "Come on, man! Tribunal , for a phone? Then, he had the audacity to look me up on a behavior chart? Do I even look unruly or like a delinquent or something? " That's all I could think. That definitely made me day.
Ms.B stopped acting like she was teaching once he left and she asked us what he said and we told her. She just laughed and then sat down. She was one of those teachers that only wanted to teach when she knew she was going to be observed. It's an AP course, but we didn't do too much AP work for the two hours we were in there, but that was fine with me. THE EASIER, THE BETTER.
When the bell rung, Michael pulled me to the side and he said, "Girl, Tip is mad about the homecoming week days because we didn't go with her idea." I said, "What idea? I thought everything was voted on , right? & We went with the majority." He said, "Right, but you know how some people are when they don't get their way , so we're going to have to vote again. "
I just walked off. I HATED unfair treatment. It should never be about one person when you're dealing with a group event. I just made sure Michael knew I would not be at that next meeting.
Later that night, Tip text me. I'm simply thinking, what could she want? She doesn't text me any other time. Then my phone keep ringing back to back so I knew she was sending me a long message expressing herself about something.
I opened the message and the first thing that she typed was , "We're not best friends and we won't end this conversation being best friends!" This made me agitated because it seemed to me like she felt like I needed the "friendship" to validate my life or something. GIRL..... BYE!
Throughout the whole message she was trying to confront me about not including her in ideas that I had. It was so petty , especially since every time I had an idea I made sure it was a class discussion . She was just so stuck on entertaining James that she was never alert to the fact, and I let her know that. Then I told her how that whole best friend statement was bullshit. I said, "If you ask me, we never were really friends. You proved that when you acted as if it was my fault James tried to get at me & you will always be included when you pay attention. While you're worried about me being a best friend, you need to worry about James being true to you. I won't even tell you what he's been doing & I'm not going to come to you just because you want to feel special when it's an open class discussion. Let's just keep this thing on a business level for now on." And all she had to say was ," Okay."
Then, James text me. He was trying to ask me what he has been doing as if I was just talking off the dome. Apparently, he was feeding her words to say to me on the phone while she was texting me. I just kept ignoring his messages then he kept calling me and etc. I let him know that I had screenshots of everything so he really didn't want any problems with me. I ended my message with "Fuck both of y'all." That was that.
We attended school the next day like nothing happened. All I kept thinking was : WHERE ARE YOU GRADUATION?
