just friends (chapter 9)

I decided this chapter is going to be from Liam’s point of view so you can understand what his feeling and emotions are right now. Hope you enjoy!

Here’s chapter 9!

*Liam’s POV*

Should I call her? I don’t want to come across as to clingy. Besides, would she even want to talk to me? Probably not. She was probably off with her family enjoying their vacation. I should let her enjoy her Vacation but I can’t go two weeks without seeing her. It would be the longest two weeks of my life.

I’ve only known Vanessa for a short time, but I feel like we have a special bond. It’s like a certain connection only we can understand. It’s like I’m at the top of the world when I’m with her and when we hug, I never want to let her go. I get this tingly feeling inside my stomach, little butterflies flying everywhere inside my tummy.

When I’m with her I get this emotion I’ve never felt before.

I just need to see her beautiful face……what am I doing? I can’t be falling for her! This time I KNOW the feeling isn’t mutual. This is exactly the type of situation I’ve been trying so hard to avoid.

I want to be her friend. Nothing more.

To at least do that I’d at least have to see her again, talk to her.

I decided to text her

To: Vanessa Parkes

Hey this is Liam, whacha up to?

I sent the text to her and seconds felt like minutes well I was waiting for her to respond. 30 minutes later…. Actually it was 7 minutes later, although it felt like 30.

I looked at my phone

*1 new message*

From: Vanessa Parkes

Hey Li! About to go swimming at the beach, want to come?

To: Vanessa Parkes

Meet you at the beach in 20 minutes (:

I quickly got ready and headed to the beach

I ran up to Vanessa she was sitting on a beach towel with her headphones in admiring the water.

She didn’t notice me yet.

I ran up to her, gave her back a light shove and yelled AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH as loudly as I could.

She jumped 50 feet and screamed

She turned around to see who it was. She realized it was me and gave me a death stare. “You will pay for this, watch out” she said with an evil grin on her face

                Vanessa was wearing a light pink bikini that looked perfect on her slim and toned figure. Her hair was put in a side braid and she wasn’t wearing any makeup. Wow, she looks absolutely stunning with and without makeup.

“Give me a piggy back” she demanded

I leaned over so she could hop on my back. Once she was on I ran full speed into the water. I could hear her laughing, oh how I could listen to her laugh all day.

Once we were fairly deep into the water she hoped of my back.

“That was awesome!” she said

I smiled “Glad I could be of your assistance” I winked at her

“Last person to that rock owes the other 5 dollars!” she yelled as she set of swimming to the rock

I swam as fast as I could and was up to wear she was

“You’re going to hafta swim faster than that if you want to keep your money!” I said to her as I passed her

I was now quite a far distance ahead of her.

I slowed down my pace.

I felt something tackle me and then I heard a laugh.

“That’s cheating!” I yelled

Obviously she didn’t care because she just continued to tackle me.

I lifted her up and carried her upside-down. “LIAM PAYNE PUT ME DOWN RIGHT NOW”

I adjusted her so she wasn’t upside down

“Okay, if you insist…” I said as I threw her into the water, making a big splash.

When she resurfaced she just looked at me with those big brown eyes. We just looked into each other’s eyes. It felt like everything was perfect, like we were lost in each other’s eyes. I could look into her eyes all day.

“Li?”  She asked me

“Ya?”  I answered, not breaking our gaze

“Since neither of us swam to the rock, you have to pay me 10 dollars”

“I never agreed to that!” I protested

“You also didn’t agree to swimming to the rock in the first place” she smirked

“How about you come over to my house and I’ll give you lunch” I suggested

“I like that idea even better” she said, our gaze still not being broken,

A laugh escaped both of our mouths and before we knew it, we were in hysterics.  There's something about your laugh that makes me wanna have to, there’s nothing funny so we laugh at nothing.

Everything just feels so right when I’m with her.

We went to my house and had a bite to eat.

I couldn’t help but notice the smile that was planted on Vanessa’s face the whole time. She had the most perfect smile.

Her deep dimples were so attractive. Her lips looked soft and I would kill to taste her lips. This is crazy. We are best friends Liam.

Just friends.

Those words hurt me so badly.
